do you really see that winning in 2020?

i mean i know we would all vote for it in here but :yeshrug: im tryna be objective with biden. personally he's real low on my list

i feel like a ticket like that has a better chance in 2024. even a good to great chance when trump fatigue has really set in
Bernie can not, and must not, be allowed to win, without becoming a Democrat. Its my red-line.

Well no. I don't want an outsider pimping the blood sweat and tears of a party he can't be bothered to invest in on a basic level

its not bernie sanders' fault that the democrats have a rigged, corrupt monopoly on left of the aisle politics in america :yeshrug: if anti-trust laws applied to politics they would have been broken up a long time ago

Kamala, Cory, and Warren are all far more unifying figures for the entire swath of the Democratic vote. The only person rivalling Joe's divisiveness is Bernie due to all the Hillary holdout freaks. Joe is the most hated of all serious potential nominees by the left. Whether they will back him in 2020 remains to be seen, but he is absolutely not a unifying figure as it stands. He's the guy who ran the Anita Hill hearings for Christ's sake. Praised by Hatch and Graham during the Kavanaugh hearings. He's literally said "The younger generation now tells me how tough things are. Give me a break. No, no, I have no empathy for it. Give me a break". Great message to get out the young vote. He hasn't even shown any willingness to bend to progressive issues. He literally said "I don't think 500 billionaires are the reason we're in trouble. The folks at the top aren't bad guys." I'm sure progressives will love hearing that. This is the guy that's going to unify the party? If you think him attacking Trump is going to be enough to pacify progressives and young voters, you have another thing coming. He will lose, and he will have deserved to lose.
I think you’re overlooking the power of “recency bias”. The young folks who grew up with him as the charismatic robin to Obama’s Batman aren’t going to be looking back to his past from the 80’s and 90’s, many first and second time voters weren’t event born then :dead:. America is not a politically savvy/educated society, therefore brand/message > substance/track record. I don’t know if Biden can win it, but the points you’re bringing up against him won’t be what does him in.

In all honesty...why not Beto at the top of the ticket? I know the conventional reasons why, but look at our current President.

We can't risk another loss. I haven't seen a democratic politician be able to galvanize all parts of the democratic base this way since Obama.

We live in a simple, increasingly racially entrenched country, and the following people fail the...optics :mjpls:...test:
-Harris
-Booker
-Warren (goofy)
-Sanders (goofy and will raise your taxes)

Biden is problematic for reasons you can imagine.

What's wrong with Beto?

I like Beto, but give him a couple of years to build name recognition. He hasn't proven he can win statewide elections, and hasn't proved the Midwest would fukk with him.

It will come up in a primary. Ask Hillary about superpredators.

It's not mine, but it is what it is. Trump is a bully, those two people are easy targets, and I don't see them doing well clapping back in a way that isn't awkward or weak feeling (see: Jeb Bush).

Exactly. I was just making the Obama comparison to someone I was talking to today. The fact that Beto nearly pulled off becoming the first Texas Democratic Senator in 30 years is astounding. Following his campaign from afar, he just seems to have the IT factor. At this point, I’m all in on Beto running for president in 2020.
