It's not mine, but it is what it is. Trump is a bully, those two people are easy targets, and I don't see them doing well clapping back in a way that isn't awkward or weak feeling (see: Jeb Bush).
Did you see Beto debate Cruz, he's not exactly a guy with a lot of comebacks. Meanwhile Bernie gets at people with facts. He will quote facts and figures that makes his opponent look dumb. Peep how well he did against Hillary.

I never said it did. You said millennials would forget. I assure you they would not. And Biden has never done well in a primary. Imagine now with a more progressive demographic.
Do you not understand how small of a segment that Hilary remark resonated with? Again, I don’t see Biden’s past superceding who he is presently to those who grew up with him as VP. Y’all also overestimate how big the progressive wing is, there are still a lot of moderate dems outside of the liberal core of coastal cities.

A Bill Clinton like democratic governor in a red or purple state would assure victory.

These rural cacs need someone they relate to more than Trump to break his strange hold on them.

Too bad that there is no one like that waiting in the cut.

2020 I am optimistic about, Hilary fukked up losing Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.

If she held those like she was supposed to, she would have won.

Yesterday confirmed that those three states are rejecting trumpism on the statewide level. Wisconsin is a bit shaky but I think we can reel them back in with the right candidate.

Fukk Florida and Ohio:pacspit:. We don't need them no more:scust:.

You are projecting. This is all about you and your politics and what you would like to see. I didn't state anything you're responding to. The Democratic Party has shifted left on every issue since Biden was VP. That's not a debatable proposition. That whole "small segment" resonating thing is nonsense. Every young black kid on college had an issue with it back in 2016. Only the "moderate" Dems AKA well-off black people let that slide. But I'm sure you know about this than someone tied into college get out the vote efforts.

Look, I know you're a smart woman, but you did not sufficiently respond to what I said. I just stated your premise was wrong. I never said anything about a "progressive wing." Biden is currently to the right of your generic millennial Democrat. The teenagers who will vote for the first time in 2020 are farther left than millennials. Now, he may adapt to the times, but the last incarnation of Joe Biden is to the right of millennials and is bent on defending his record. Hillary had the excuse that she wasn't even voting. Biden literally based his career off of a lot of anti-progressive shyt. Mind you, all of that shyt won last night when put on the ballot. Legalizing marijuana, raising the minimum wage, etc. There is no universal narrative for how Democrats can win based on the takeaways of this midterm. It comes down to what politics resonate in your community. But whatever they are, on a national level, they are much further to the left than Biden's history and a large variety of candidates will have way more authenticity on those issues than he will. Look at Obama's blue wall in the Midwest and take a good look at the platform of those candidates who won in 2018. Family, you need to walk out of the upper-middle-class hallways sometimes and go see the activists on the ground. I straddle both.

Black college kids is a small segment of the entire democratic base, that’s all I’m saying.

Biden would not run on a platform based on his 90’s politics, that’s a given. And no, he wouldn’t be some super left progressive either. He’d run a campaign that resonates with most. Furthermore college kids, generally, are least Educated about issues and go with brands/feelings or good talking points over substance...y’all here follow politics, that’s not representative of the average college kid

Lastly, there is mounting research that gen Z is actually more individualistic and conservative than millennials so not sure where you’re getting they’re even further left.
Why Democrats Should Be Losing Sleep Over Generation Z

Anyway, this convo is moot as I highly doubt they give his old ass the nomination

Beto needs to strike and jump into the primary next year.

You wait too long and people will move on like Jason Kander etc. I know this year he had the PTSD issues but you have to stay relevant on a national level which is hard without being in office

The Democrats will have plenty of candidates to choose from. That's a good thing.

Age is going to play a big part IMO.

I really don't want to see a 75-year old Trump running against a 77-year old Biden or even worse, a rapidly declining 80 year old Bernie who would be senile by 2024, in 2020.

What about a Beto/Klobuchar ticket?

I actually think the age could be a benefit. We need to peel off older white voters, which I think Biden can do.
