But Columbia is never gonna deal with the risk of losing their accreditation .

No, I wouldn't say meaningless. I think it means that it doesn't meet certain standards from the educational authority. or if you try to get a job where need to get a license or a public service type job; the employer may expect you to take extra courses or may consider another candidate that has more qualifications as far as that goes. Degree wouldn't be worthless though. But, imo, schools like Howard and Hampton have too much historical significance and reputation, so I don't think that would be much of an issue; Morgan State (part of the Univ of Md system), so that's a factor too, not like it's some school with 200 students and 6 part time teachers, setting up some pop up shop near a mall in Podunk, Alabama or Louisiana somewhere.

Columbia University's endowment is 10 BILLION dollars. It made a 14% return on it's investments last year

Howards is 1/20th of that

The way it looks the Feds probably found out about this the same time everybody else did, whenever this whistleblower released it. This shyt looks like it could have legs, and you wouldn’t hear a peep from 12 until they got some paperwork to put on somebody. Bad deal for everybody involved, brehs shouldn’t have been stealing but the whistleblower foul too for trying to bring the whole ship down.

DePaul University -
Enrollment: 23,539 (double Howard's enrollment)
Endowment: $492.3 million (less than Howard's endowment)

Howard and other HBCU's need to get the right people in to make things work.

I do understand that there is an increase of students dependent on financial aid and are not able to come out of pocket for tuition.

I understand alumni not having the types of jobs where they can give back the university.

But most all schools are facing these issues. A qualified administration will make it work.

I respect your position 100 percent. But to be fair, DePaul has some pretty powerful alumni (https://offices.depaul.edu/secretary/board-of-trustees/Documents/Board_Trustees_110617.pdf), add that with the Catholic Church subsidies.

Kind of tough to say they’re on equal footing.
