A Boogie was never considered “the next” NY dude. He never had that full on support like people were having for Pop Smoke

nah you're bugged out b

boogie is the guy here, has been for a minute probably since artist

its mad nikkas out new york right now blatantly biting his sound, some of them are even popping off the strength of his influence

It should be but it isn't. shyt, just look at some of these thread and replies. Dudes somehow believe YouTube views, streaming numbers & record sales equate to quality as is. nikkas be focused purely on how many "hits" an artist has and popularity in oppose tonif da music is actually good.

The Grammys should be the best of the best. No exceptions

Why do I even step in this subforum anymore?
Jay Elec took 10 years to release a collab album with Jay Z that had several songs that were released already and that was nomination worthy:mjlol:
Old heads say Pop Smoke music ain’t substantive enough but prop up Gibbs and Benny the Butcher in the same breath:mjlol:
In my opinion his label ruined any chances at awards with that deluxe shyt
Way too much filler on that album but it was still decent
Not seeing MTW or MTW2 tho

If dawg wasn't dead, a good majority of y'all wouldn't prop him up da way that y'all do. He was aight, but with da way some of y'all act, he was da 2nd coming of Christ or Christopher Wallace. :manny:

Was getting ready to type similar, but you put it best. Had he still been alive I'm not sure he'd be getting the praise he's getting now.

You live in Texas how tf would you know who’s supporting what rapper in NY?:snoop:

Simply listening to music all the time. Unlike some of the other posters in here, I’m a legit rap fan and not just somebody listening to what Needle Drop and Akademiks tell me to. I actually favor a lot of east coast music. Plus it’s not 1995 anymore where the only way to find out about stuff is through tv and magazines. You can literally hear anything you want at any time.

This you may have misconstrued what I said. Compare the love Pop Smoke was getting before he died to what A Boogie was getting. It’s not even close. A Boogie was getting a lot of radio love but nobody was riding for him as the next great NY artist like they were for Pop Smoke, and if they’re saying that now, they’re flat out lying. Pop Smoke was getting Biggie and 50 comparisons. A Boogie didn’t have that in the slightest.
