Watched this yesterday, and I’m thinking that this is my movie of the year and my favorite Yorgos flick (seen every one besides the favorite). I also went in blind knowing nothing but that the film was directed by Yorgos and I was not disappointed.

This is like a distant cousin to Barbie in a way with the concepts at play here. The shyt is surprisingly hilarious throughout the film as well, with a bunch of weird scenes that you come to expect from Yorgos.

Acting here is great, they all did amazing, but the standouts to me are Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo is funny as fukk, and Emma almost goes “Full retard” (shout out tropic thunder) in the beginning, but pulls it back as the film progresses, and really shines throughout the film.

The way everything is shot is unconventional (fish eye lenses, crazy panning shots in weird angles, settings, even the sky, etc.) and it fits the entire mood of the film, which is in some surreal alternative universe it seems.

Giving this a 9 to 9.5 out of 10. The 2 and a half hours blow by, but I need to rewatch Oppenheimer again to see if this really takes the crown

this movie was too much. first of all, emma stone is one of the better looking pawgs of our time, but even she is not worth looking at for the amount of time her naked ass is on screen jumping around. plus she's not all there mentally for the majority of the movie so how you even comfortable watching that shyt?

anyway, on a filmmaking level, the movie is absolutely exquisite. some shots and sets I was looking at like, dawg i'm not even sure I deserve to be seeing this. straight up luxury cinematography. the title splashes for each chapter of her life are so meticulously designed, that shyt must have taken months.. the movie starts off as a 10/10, then hits a 8/10, then goes down to about a 7 by the end. but tell me why the chapter of her life that drags on the most is the most unpleasant to watch. they did that shyt on purpose. the other film he made, The Lobster, is excellent and much better paced. this is more on the line of the Favourite. cool concept but the execution goes on for too long.

I am hoping to see this over the holiday. The problem is it looks so strange I am not sure I can find anyone I know who wants to go see it with me. Lol

Weirdest movie I’ve ever seen. Enough sex scenes to make a porno. I’m a little worried about Emma Stone after this one. Despite all that I really enjoyed this movie. It was surprisingly funny and thoughtful. Ruffalo crushed buildings. Stole the show. Probably will never watch it again but it was a good movie.
