This is not true bro, at no point ever was Houston nikkas known for being more 'with the shyts' than Dallas nikkas. You probably wasn't ever in the streets or really been to places to see though and that's ok cause that life is bullshyt, but there is a reason why New Orleans nikkas settled in Houston and not Dallas after the storm and it aint got everything to do with Houston being more southern. My wife is from LA, one of my two best friends is from LA, I got potnas from Memphis, Ohio, Florida, Chi Town who all vouch for Dallas nikkas on that level bruh.

thinking they could take this bytch over and didn't realize Dallas nikkas go hard. All my NOLA potnas to this day say 'We turned Houston into the new New Orleans' and laugh about it, they could never say that shyt about here.[/QUOTE]

This is because the majority of them were bused to Houston and a lot of New Orleans people had family in Southeast Texas. :heh:

I get OPs point. It's South, but when we think of Deep South - MS, AL, GA, SC, NC, TN, AK, LA - Texas isn't really on the map like that. But it is still southern.

Census profile: Dallas, TX

Census profile: Houston, TX

Not a big difference percentage wise but because Houston is bigger, there's over 200,000 more blacks there...

But I feel you on the other shyt. Perspective from somebody not from Texas:

Houston has more cache and notoriety in American black culture, from what I've seen in my travels Coast to coast. So that's why some people may think Houston is wilder. In most of the US, Dallas is thought if as this cow town, Crackerville. Houston has impacted our culture, black culture, more deeply from entertainers and athletes to universities and music and food, etc. If you ask the average black person, who not from Texas or neighboring states, to tell you something about Dallas, cats will draw a blank after thr Cowboys...

It's like everybody knows it's a major city and where it is, but people don't know nothing about it. But nikkas know Houston and the drug wars back in the days and can name stuff about The H...
Perception isn't always reality though. Dallas isn't as known in the mainstream but ask anyone in Texas not from Dallas or Houston which city they think is worse. More than likely the D. It's a reason state troopers are in Dallas rn

Yup I work with a lot of nikkas who moved from Cali but refuse to move to Dallas County cause they say and I quote 'Dallas is too much like LA, I'd rather stay in Ft. Worth or Arlington where it's somewhat more laid back.'

Memphis and Dallas ain't that much alike. I'd be with you on Little Rock, though. Little Rock is a blend of Memphis and Dallas, is influenced by both. But Memphis, nah, it's pretty different from Dallas...
a lot of south dallas nikkas do sound like memphis nikkas. and the bytches here are on a whole notha level with the ratchet accent. seriously dallas bytches are very southern.

@The_Sheff tell these nikkas that it can pop off anywhere in Memphis.

Shiiiiiiit, on Poplar you have multi million dollar homes surrounded by 9 foot brick walls because the legit hood is one fukking street over.

Germantown, one of if not the most affluent suburb of Memphis is surrounded by the hood on 3 sides!

Harbor Town, which overlooks the Mississippi River with picturesque views, has the police walking the park and kicking folks out after 8pm because junkies can WALK over from 3rd street hoods and fukk people up.

They shot up the cot damn Cheesecake Factory at the "high end" mall. They shot up Main Event. They shoot up I-40 and 240 every other week. You cant do shyt in Memphis to lower your odds of being shot.

I ain't gonna lie, I love Memphis and I low key wanna move back (I'm back in Atlanta now), but I can't sit here and lie like it ain't one of the most dangerous metro areas to live in. Like dude said you can't really even leave the hood unless you go up north into Tipton County. Tipton County is one red light country, I only go there because my wife is from there.
