so let me get this straight. you are not allowed to carry more than 10k in cash. and if you do, the punishment for that is that they take your money away from you and don't give it back, no matter where you got the money from or what you intended to do with it. there is no trial or anything, the money ist just gone. that can't be right.

I commented on this the first time it was posted and I still dont understand how this makes any sense. There is no reason you shouldnt be able to walk around with as much of your own money as you damn well please ESPECIALLY considering there is no follow up whatsoever afterwards and your money is just gone. Pretty sure you can. I think you're just not allowed to fly across state lines without documenting that you're carrying over 10k.
