Funny now many of the negative 90s rappers convinently forget Chuck D, and always mention Pac n Big despite Chuck D having the knowledge that surpasses most civil rights leaders.
chuck d has the knowledge maybe but he never was as good as the top tier rappers especially lyrically.

T/S makes great points

What they did was they segregated radio into two categories:

1. Urban

2. Top 40/Rhythmic

This makes it easy for them to give negative, stereotypical, and genocidal messages (sub-consciously) to urban listeners (who are predominantly Black) while ensuring that top 40 listeners (predominantly white) radio remains positive, uplifting and family friendly.

They don't call it "radio programming" for nothing

Anyways, I'm sure we've all heard rappers during their promos refer to their "Street Single" and "Commercial Single".

So everyone stop playing dumb and pretending like thread starter is imagining things or being paranoid

This guy also made an album trying to promote being a faithful husband and black people trashed it (half his fanbase was turning on him). I don't blame him none. And you act like 1 song overrides his entire catalog of "positive" music as you call it. I'm logging off the coli for a while. Ya'll are so shortsighted.

LA Reid is the highest ranking person in the room on the bobby shmurda vid. Just sayin

He is. He is also the textbook definition of the word "c00n" also. People like him are the ones that would alert massa of fellow slaves planning to escape for an extra blanket.

No it wouldn't. Did "Happy" flop on black radio? No...

Did R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" flop? No...

Positive records can sell if marketed properly. The white supremacists who work for urban radio (because we don't control urban radio...some jew does) decide what the black community listens to.

nikka:what:
Why wouldn't I as a black man wanna hear some positive music.

Sad isn't it how lowly we think of ourselves. :wow:Thats exactly what this current white-supremicists controlled hiphop culture is doing to us breh. Its making us believe that we dont deserve to be uplifted and motivated by positive music. Positivity is a "white" thing:scust:

I don't need my eyes to be open, cause I've known this shyt forever. It's "black radio"'s fault more than it is anyone's. And note that I put black radio in quotations because most of the owners of these stations are white and usually far removed from anything having to do with black people. And they are often the ones who make the final decisions, and ever since a looooong time ago have continuously limited the playlist/variety of what's played. And this has gone on since the 80s/early-90s. Theres been specific sounds and subject matter that they focus on playing, and whatever doesn't 'fit' into that has less of a chance of being played. And in recent years, it's only gotten worse. Now is this the ARTIST'S fault, or the fault of those who run the operation?

In this specific case, hell yea i blame Usher. Dude is damn near 40 with kids who has been in the game for over 20years. He shouldnt have to be "reduced" to making generic strip club anthems. He should be setting examples on how to make "grown folk" music. He's not a naive Bobby SchMurda or Young Thug willing to sell his soul to get himself out the hood. He knows better. Fuk Usher

Only we have to look for and "find" positivity.:snoop:Dont yall get that yall are making my case with posts like these?
I am not complaining but this is a democracy and majority rules. Trust if zero people listen to those stations, you think advertisers are going to pay? No!
