The main advantage would be being able to play 4k games natively without FPS sacrifice + ray tracing on, instead of having to pick one. Also, with more 120 fps games while not losing much on the other fronts either.

It feels unnecessary when we don't have any current gen only games. Also, it made sense to have a pro last gen since 4k adoption was very high, so it made sense to create upgrades to allow 4k.

If we’re to believe the report it would be coming out two years from now. That would be almost 5 years into the generation which is two years later than the pro released last gen.

And do we honestly believe between now and early 2025 there won’t be enough current gen titles to make use of it?

By this time next year I guarantee this forum is gonna be filled with post about new games lacking performance options

Realistically it would be at the minimum be every sony first party game (they have over 25 in production) and every 3rd party exclusive, the type of games that go out of their way to do full 3d audio and dualsense features a la, finally fantasy 16, silent hill 2, kotor, etc.

PSpro hasn’t even been talked about outside twitter rumors, and there’s not much of an upgrade that can happen at a reasonable price.
