Yeah.
Most Black men's problems can be attributed to two things.
1) Single mothers raising them.
2) Black men suffer from chronic immaturity.

I might get bashed for this but it needs to said that black men are generally the most immature men on the planet. A lot of us do not grow up. The way you see some black men in his 30's act, I guarantee he acted the same way in his teen years.
Ask him about his goals when he is 16. "p*ssy and paper bruh"
Ask him when he is 25 "p*ssy and paper bruh"
Ask him when he is 35 "p*ssy and paper brother"
Ask him when he is 45 "p*ssy and paper"
ad infinitum

Alot of black men do not mentally age past their teen years, and will make the same ignorant mistakes over and over again. Further evidence of this is how older cats can instantly connect with the younger ones despite being a generation apart. You want to know why? Because they talk about and strive for the same three things: p*ssy, Paper and sports.
I mean shyt, talking about money is cool though right? In the right context absolutely. If you talking about stocks, property, world markets and currencies, real estate, investments. But no, the conversation always involves what they will spend the money on; women, cars, clothes, drugs. The aversion to making a plan to save money (if you are capable of course) is telltale sign of immaturity.

Black women on average are much more mentally mature than black men. But they don't get out of this one either. Black women, despite their maturity, will make fukked up decisions for a mate. I mean fukked up.
They know who he is and what he does, what he will bring to the table and they still choose, thus creating a self perpetuating cycle. Women of all races do this but we do it at higher numbers. This wouldn't be a big deal if it was a limited, isolated thing. Unfortunately its not.

I love my people but it's looking more and more hopeless, I might have to abandon this whole 'We are in this together" and look out for my myself and my own, and if I can uplift anyone willing I will do my best to do so.

Definitely feel you on this as a black man who grew up without a father around it took me a long time to grasp the basic concept of realizing the choices you make determine your future I would complain about school, work, literally everything my dude lol life is not easy for anybody and even that much harder as a black man but that's not an excuse if anything that should make you mentally tougher and carry yourself with grace you're going to need it to accomplish the goals you want to out of life took a lot before I realized this thank god I keep company who know this and put me on to the knowledge.

My serious opinion: Black men wide and large have been discouraged from and shut out of the traditional means of social success and as such, have defined their own forms of "achievement" and "power" sadly built largely around hypermasculinity, the destruction/management/dominance of (multiple) women, physical and superficial attributes and then appearing successful in those ways I just mentioned to each other.

I think many of you are missing the fact that the government is behind the 'emasculation' of Black men and the destruction of the Black family structure. I know it sounds like a Conspiracy Theory, but the facts of history are indisputable. Prior to the 50's, Black males WERE the 'head of the household' and the marriage rate for Black people was up around 60% and about 15% of Black children were born out of wedlock. Everything changed with the inception of Welfare and other Social programs that were specifically designed to be temporary assistance, but with much Liberal pushing, became generational crutches which crippled the Black family. Marriage rates for Black people nose-dived and the amount of Black children raised without ever knowing their fathers (much less a positive Black male role model) skyrocketed to about 70%. Why? The programs instituted by the Government pushed women to stay single in order to receive benefits. Things got worse in the 60's due to Women's Liberation which demonized women for being housewives/mothers rather than CEO's. In fact, many feminists from that period (and presently) are on-record saying that marriage was akin to slavery for women. With all that said, Black men were attacked from multiple fronts and our authority was fatally undermined to the point where we were seen as expendable by our OWN women.

Why get married when the Government can provide for you rather than a Black man?

This is why hiphop is a joke. Its the most juvenile and ignorant out of all genres. 40 year olds waving guns and acting like savages instead of making music that expresses growth and maturity. The black image is already damaged beyond repair and this shyt damn sure doesn't help.

The black male image is pretty much the joke of society . We're constantly portrayed as irresponsible, classless, uneducated, immature and just flat out ignorant (this is by design btw). Black women are affected by these stereotypes in that it puts all other races of men above black men.

We're good for athletics and entertainment, but when it comes down to business, responsibility and economics, we are the last group that's taken serious globally.

When it comes down to the "ideal" man, the black image is last when it comes down to the characteristics associated with being the head of a household.

I be honest, a lot of black men be slacking. Thinking about their dikks and ego over the bigger picture. That'd why there are a lot of Flava Flav's and Beanie Sigels in our community, in their 40s, 50s, and 60s thinking like teenagers. Even their children be like when their own father don't strive to be anything but a statistic. In this Era of police brutality and gentrification, America made it very clear that they got no more room for immature adults that don't think about wealth.
