And nikkas thinking it's the Daytona 500 in the final circle just driving around running people over.

Doing that in first person gonna get you gunned up quick :MjgrinAnime:

i dunno why you're so focused on 3 people when you're saying the game has caught on globally.

because those 3 streamers make up like 90% of the views for the game..

korea's not playing pubg because they watched summit on twitch.

indirectly they are.. Summit, Shroud and DrDisrespect made the game popular while taking breaks from Counter Strike, etc. The game caught on fire because it was a more well done H1Z1 in their eyes, the sales for PUBG were initially slow until they started playing it daily and then it blew up... Asians didnt pick up this game until it started being in the top 10 games streamed on twitch

battle royale is just a fun concept.

and pubg was lucky enough that their janky ass product was "first" to market.

what in the fukk are you talking about ?? First to market? PUBG is hardly the first popular battle royal game, shyt it isnt even the developers of the game 1st battle royal game. Multiple battle royal games have sold MILLIONS before PUBG, what the fukk are you talking about :mindblown: one the most popular games of all time, H1Z1 is a battle royal game :mindblown:

this forum is TRASH because people like you have ZERO knowledge about the shyt you are typing out

plus shroud and summit 100% loved the game when they first started playing it. i remember shroud saying he thought pubg could become the best game of all time

thats exactly why it caught on fire, they liked it more than H1Z1 which was stagnant at the time and PUBG was a fresh new take on battle royal (not the 1st..) but after months of playing it they realized the Devs struck gold by accident and they actually have 0 clue on how to improve the game. The game has been out over a year now and its still has a lot of flaws from when it first came out.

ill give you a prime example

Fort Nite was out for what? 2-3 months before battle royal came out? Summit hates PUBG so he tried out Fort Nite and now Fort Nite has gone up in popularity

its not rocket science..

that's why i put "first' in quotes breh. calm the fukk down. what is wrong with you?

pubg is the first standalone battle royale game. i'm not counting the culling because that game killed itself off and never gave itself a chance. all the other games are mods/spinoffs.

this is a game that was designed from the very beginning to be a battle royale game. no other bullshyt. you buy it, and then you play battle royale. it's the ONLY mode.

the casual gamer isn't going to buy arma because they're interested in battle royale. they don't wanna buy a survival game so they can play the battle royale mode.

anyways, that's what i meant by "first."

--

pubg sales were never slow. stop.

--

summit was the ONLY one of the 3 streamers that even played pubg at the start.

drdis held on to h1z1 for a while. and shroud was doing his pro cs thing.

if anything, pubg helped summit and drdis more than the other way around.

pubg had summit feeling like he could beat lirik in viewership. (he couldn't.)

--

asians been playing pubg breh. it's made by a korean studio. the asian servers been up and populated since closed beta.

--

i know you got your own dedicated twitch monitor and shyt.. but the twitch audience is a vast minority of the gaming public.

the viewership doesn't necessarily equal the playerbase.

look at csgo on twitch. nobody is watching that shyt. and then check steamcharts and see that mad fukking people are still playing it.

--

it's a good game with an even better concept. i dunno why it's so hard for you to admit it.

--

edit: and this is coming from a guy that didn't think this game was ever gonna improve. i thought the gamescom tourney was gonna be the end. their cashout. but they kept on trucking.

it's still janky af. but to say it hasn't improved is a stone-faced lie.

Picked this game up last night and played for a few hours. I'm playing on the OG XBOX ONE.
Negatives:
Was booted to the main menu once, experienced quite a bit of rubber banding, textures take forever to load and in a lot of cases items did as well which really hurts that crucial first few minutes of scrambling if you land next to anyone, frame rate in the lobby and on the plane is horrible. In a lot of cases the game looks and performs bad. Going up hill can be a chore times with the way the characters jump and interact with the environment. A few times I felt like that character should have easily been able to climb something and I ended up getting caught rubber banding for a while before I could turn the character around and try a different path.
Neutral:
The controls in general take some getting use to. Tapping the left trigger to go into first person aiming vs holding the left trigger to aim in third person is weird at first, but once I got used to it I found that it works well enough. After the initial scramble of looking for weapons, a lot of matches can feel longer than they need to be. I think the game would benefit from speeding up the time between the area of battle shrinking or at least having a mode that would accommodate a faster pace.
Positives:
Despite the negatives, I find the game to be fun. There's a rush when you first hit the ground and then the game dips as you wait for the battlefield to shrink. This waiting part makes some of the matches feel much longer than they need to be, but if you survive to the last 10 players, the game gives you a feeling of tension that makes things very exciting. One thing I and alot of people were interested in seeing is how this game would handle item management on console. IMO they did a great job. I didn't have any issue at all going into my inventory and equipping or getting rid of items very quickly. I like how you can lean to the left or the right when aiming like in Rainbow Six Seige.

I'm not a fan right now of the loot box style rewards for new items, but from what I could tell, they are only cosmetic items which is fine in the long run.
I don't know if this is already in the game, but I think it would be dope as hell and actually speed the matches up, if there were special items in the matches that you could find and keep permanently. Definitely not weapons or armor, but some cool cosmetic items, or maybe even some money for loot boxes. I feel like there needs to be items in the matches that you get to actually keep. That'll encourage players to venture out more instead of just camping until the battlefield shrinks.

"camping until the battlefield shrinks" is a personal choice. you can always keep looking for better equipment, or actively hunt other players. it also depends if you end up far outside the circle

I get that, but the maps are huge. I'm just suggesting that they speed of the battlefield shrinking, or have a separate faster paced mode.
Some of these matches felt long/boring until the field got smaller and people were forced to fight.
I'll tell you one thing though, I did a match on a map with a large apartment complex. I found a sniper rifle and sat at a window on the top floor. I saw to players fight right below me. I waiting until one of them died. The other player started to go through his inventory and I got him with a head shot from my window across the way. That little moment was exciting as hell and is something that you don't see in other games like that. At least not on console.

I found first person mode only severely underwhelming :francis:

I feel it's because your field of view is so limited compared to 3rd person, I felt handicapped and never had a true awareness of my surroundings and was constantly dying by someone shooting me outside my POV before I had time to react, I rarely had a gunfight

What's the point of first person mode? Is everyone locked into first person?
I like playing in third with the option of switching to first depending on the situation.
