True, but his legacy needs to be graded on a curve then. A couple rings as a sidekick to the Splash Bros = the same asterisk a guy like David Robinson got for winning 2 rings as Duncan's sidekick.

should we really grade the admirals legacy on a curve? He never played with a legit 2nd option. Sean elliot at best is a 3rd option on a championship winning team

it Kevin Durant played a normal Kevin Durant game the thunder would have won. dude should like 16 of 60 games 5 and 6 on 5+ turnovers .always weird that people bring up lebron comparison. lebron went all out in Cleveland
I will never forget that performance. He played that game like he had autism :scust:

why do u guys keep bringing up durant joined a team who beat him shyt

look if u and russ not getting along of course u leaving that's number 1

number 2 u a free-agent and haven't won shyt in 8 seasons, so u going somewhere that u know can win within the next 2 years and a city u feel comfortable with

is new york winning? would he win in miami with no bosh or wade no more?? was boston going to beat cleveland

so it comes down to the spurs and warriors and who ever fits your style, which is golden state

I completely understand all that

But at the end of the day, they both wanted the easiest championship possible and that's really all there is to it for me.

Durant joined a team that beat him.
LeBron took less money than inferior players so he could have 2 stars on his team and steamroll through the league

But they took less money than they were worth and eligible for so they could add bosh

Why?

Again we all know they called eachother, had their agents work out the financials so they could win RINGS. no one is disputing that. They colluded and form the heatles and took less money to win championships.

that's a given

What kevin durant did is unlike anything we seen before in the history of the NBA. The circumstance, the team he went to, and what he left behind.

I guarantee you if lebron had amare in 2010 he doesn't go to miami.

If bosh had a dominant wing in toronto he stays as well.

Durant going to the clippers would've made the clippers (if healthy) favorites to come out the west.

Durant going to boston, with them trading their picks for paul george or jimmy butler at the deadline definately beat the cavs in a series with brad stevens coaching.

Washington adding durant makes them formidable.

The problem though is that you can't find a parallel between what Durant did, there's been other FAs leaving teams to go form super teams, from Moses Malone going to the Sixers to this almost happening -

They just missed out on signing Tim Duncan after getting those two, Duncan was seriously on the verge of signing with them. You can't find any example in NBA history of what KD did, a top player leaving his contending team to go play with the squad that just beat him and had been to two finals in a row, that's a one off in NBA history.

Not at all. But assuming Durant rangs in GS a couple times, people are going to rush to put him in the top 15-20. Meanwhile, David Robinson took an L to Hakeem in 1995 (which isn't as bad or is at worst on par with blowing a 3-1 lead like Durant did) and then won 2 titles as a secondary guy. Yet when people compile lists of best players ever, he's consistently bushed. I'm saying if Durant avoids the stigma, then Admiral needs his spot on the list readjusted.

If LeBron takes a max salary he is probably sitting on 1 ring right now (Cleveland)

he's was arguably the 3rd 4th best player in that playoff run. he was pretty much god awful the entire playoffs outside that spurs blow out and the kawhi 4th quarter. him not having one semi average game against goldenstate because of terrible midrange shots and quick 3s is inexcusable.

Because it's a very unique situation

When has a team been to 2 straight titles and had cap room to add a max player?

LeBron would have done the same thing if he could

This is another reason why I shyt on KD. None of us can prove it but the way he played game 6 it was almost like he was throwin the game :what:

We learned that Draymond and them was in his ear the WHOLE SEASON.

Cmon man the shyt is suspect

And Westbrook shooting 28 for 76 with 15 turnovers in the last 3 games was him playing normal or is this the part where only Durant gets blamed for the 3-1 collapse?
