Mike know it. He not stupid. He deep down know he not fukking with Bron
In the eyes of most people who work in basketball, Mike is the GOAT but LeBron is viewed as more or less his historical equal; the lean to Mike is nowhere near as strong as when you get the opinions of fans and players, who are basically MJ Stans who were good enough to play in the big leagues...
Also in the eyes of players who are older than Mike's era (think Kareem, O, etc), these dudes largely don't view Mike as the GOAT, just
one of the GOATs, and when they've been asked to choose between he or Bron, they affirm they view them both as relative equals...
As I've said many times before, the Mike is GOAT thing was mandated by Mike and his era peers and the corporations he was in bed with, and the people in charge of most of these conglomerates who say he's the GOAT are largely from his age range. Mike was still viewed as the consensus favorite but was losing steam I popular opinion until The Last Dance, of course it was coordinated to downplay LeBron. Mike works in basketball, so while he has dikkriders on him everywhere he'd be all too aware that most others who work and analyze the sport don't see Bron as an inferior player...
Furthermore there is nothing hard and objective that tells you Bron is inferior, nothing. They had different careers in different eras of the sport that allowed their careers to develop differently, all that 6/6 shyt is good and enhances his case but doesn't really diminish anyone else's. Everybody who won 3+ rings has lost Finals besides Mike and Mikan, it happens...
The resumes and bodies of work are equally strong, and what really bothers the basketball viewing public is we were all told no one would ever come along to match Jordan, no one would ever come along to be as great, then here Bron comes the year he retired for the final time, and you could see from Day One he was different than all the other "Next Jordan's"...
I'll repeat this yet again: I have no problem with a claim of Mike as GOAT in and of itself. He was the strongest claim to it aside from Bron. The issue I have with dudes is those who portray the comparison as Mike miles ahead, when there is literally nothing to validate that whatsoever. I think Bron over Mike because Bron played in a significantly more competitive era and still dominated, and Bron has the greatest postseason resume ever, so I choose Bron but I don't think it's by leaps and bounds, it's marginal...
They are historical equals and pretty clear above anyone else who ever played ball, but I'm not tripping on people who take Mike in and of itself...
