Honestly... the Knicks' current plan is much bigger than Carmelo -- as it should be.

I can't believe that in an offseason where the Knicks drafted a young, talented player with a bunch of potential, traded a certified chucker-bum for another young prospect, and made smart signings... people are wringing their hands over Carmelo's feelings. This team is better this season that it was last season. That is a good thing. We didn't make any harmful long-term signings, we didn't trade away assets for an Italian dumpster fire.

The only thing that would have changed this team DRAMATICALLY would have been Marc Gasol signing. He was never leaving memphis, so the knicks - instead of panicking and maxing Kanter or some dumb shyt - grabbed solid players on reasonable deals that will help.

And now our two young draft picks are playing their asses off in summer league... It's been a good summer. Relax. :knickphil:
You always go on these long rants and they rarely make sense :francis:

Let me keep this simple, if you have a star in his prime you get players that complement his game and you try to win in the present

Just like when Kobe was on the lakers playing with smush Parker and a bunch of bums...lakers tried to pull that future shyt and Kobe put dem in check with the quickness

If Carmelo had left or we traded him for butler and Mirotic then all this future crap your talking would make sense.

But if Phil chose to keep him when he clearly said he wanted to win now and invested all that money in him?,What's the point of not building around him.

U personally dislike the guy which is cool or whatever But be objective

And there ie zero indication this team is better than last years. It's sure as hell not more talented, but we shall see what happens.

Our season depends on well melo can play witth a bunch of guys who have careers that range from average to medicore.

And ofcourse how well our draft picks adapt to nba life.

I would think that with our first round pick going to raptors, we would have some type of urgency

Porzingis looking a little bargnani like today. Just got to remind myself he's a 19 year old rookie peaks and valleys.

everything phil did last year from trades, playoff predictions, bizzare tweets, forcing fisher to run the triangle by any means, not showing up was a disaster
anyone who thinks otherwise is caught up in the name
replace that his name with isiah thomas and see what the reaction is

this off season he has a done a decent job
i give him a C
nothing super special
but nothing super bad either

althought giving derrick williams a 10 million dollar contract:francis:
So instead of naming specific moves he made you just generalize the whole season because of the end result. Got you.

The Knicks had a team of veterans and win-now guys, including the Defensive Player of the Year... and they couldn't the Pacers. Then they flopped the following season.

Just like when Kobe was on the lakers playing with smush Parker and a bunch of bums...lakers tried to pull that future shyt and Kobe put dem in check with the quickness

Kobe and Carmelo aren't in similar leagues. Kobe is an all time talent, who has won MVP's and Championships. Melo is not. and has not.

What's the point of not building around him.

They are building around him... he's just not the only priority. They went and got defensive players to mask his weaknesses, upgraded the point guard and the forward position. They made as many upgrades as possible this summer.

Why are you pretending otherwise?

U personally dislike the guy which is cool or whatever But be objective

I like Melo and root for melo. I am objective. I'm using statistics, you're using feelings.

And there ie zero indication this team is better than last years. It's sure as hell not more talented, but we shall see what happens.

They upgraded at Center, Forward, PG/Backup PG and the wing. Plus they added a Young, Cheap talent in Porzingis.

They were the worst team in basketball last year. Jason Smith and Lou Amundson were major contributors. Langston Galloway was their best player.

Our season depends on well melo can play witth a bunch of guys who have careers that range from average to medicore.

This team is not going to compete REGARDLESS of what Melo does. And now we have more mediocre players, plus young good players than last year. Where we only really had bad players.

I would think that with our first round pick going to raptors, we would have some type of urgency

Actually, it's the opposite. Why would we show urgency, when there was no way to built a contender this offseason? The only players available to them, were solid contributors. So they signed them to good deals that won't cripple the cap.

You clearly don't respond to statistics. But the Knicks are going to be here longer than Carmelo is. So you have to focus on building a team that can compete long-term... not one a team that can maybe make the playoffs next season.

Chess versus Checkers. Logic versus idiocy.
