Building through free agency is never wise, your base/foundation needs to come from smart draft picks & trades of assets.

All the FA signings are going to teams that already have a couple of good players there.

Going small with melo at the 4 worked in the past. Its not ideal, but it adds some desperately needed talent to the roster. Grabbing both hedges some injury risk at the position as well.

Jesus, Aldridge won't even meet with the team.If Robin Lopez really is the best the FO can do, then trade Melo and go the full rebuild route. He'll be demanding a trade by the trade deadline anyway since the team won't even sniff the playoffs.

Porzingis is your 4 moving forward, playing Melo at the 4 is a stop gap and you're not contending for anything with him playing the 4.
