You have to love a group of fans that are WATCHING Tyson Chandler play well, and just simply refuse to believe it.
Regardless, I'm glad he's gone, because in a close game... It is better long-term for us NOT to be able to get stops.
As far as the "knicks lack effort" talk goes...they don't lack effort. They lack talent, and therefore are at a disadvantage entering most games. I don't know that the knicks have what the Hornets would want for Lance. Plus the salaries are a pain in the ass.
Would they want JR Smith? (I can't imagine they would)
You might be able to get them to take him/Jason Smith/THjr? But you are adding salary with that deal.
Next year with Lance, the Knicks salary would stand at about 46/47 Million with the options picked up. If you add the necessary salary for roster-fills (because this is only with like 7 guys on the roster) you push it near 50, which leaves you with about 13 million in the current cap to work with. If you sign Gasol, that's gone. Which means the idea of "having room for another piece" is not necessarily realistic.
Of course, the salary cap COULD go up, but it's unlikely that it would go up drastically NEXT season. Let's say it gets to 65 million. Gasol's deal (again, no real reason to believe he definitely signs with us) eats most of that room.
Another reason this draft pick needs to be a high one.
