the other FACT is that without mchale doing a favor for his boy ainge the celts don't get KG.

:heh: People on this board taking Bill Simmons jokes as facts and history.

Now I see why you guys don't understand basketball, you can't separate fact from fiction.

Some of us like Smith cause his midrange jumper is almost automatic, but I don't like his game at all. He looks like he tries hard on defense but is usually not very good at it. His passing leaves a bit to be desired. Plus he is horrible in post up situations (tho he seems to have gotten better).

He's basically out there to create space, because he can shoot the mid-range, especially if guys double Melo or rotate toward Amar'e on a drive/post move. He definitely serves that purpose.

The problem is, this offense - right now, in it's infant iteration - is creating a LOT of 10-20 foot jumpers. Open 15-20 footers, but still... it isn't creating layups yet. Jason looks emblematic of that problem, when really... that's kind of his game. He's never been much of a rebounder or defender, but he can find an open spot, and hit a shot from it. Which is useful.

the FACT is, the team is relatively healthy and expected to win.

By who exactly? All the rhetoric coming into this season was about how this was a transitional year.

They should let Melo rest and tank this season. Outside of Fan pride (in a shirty team) there is no reason to not tank.

Even if you think Gasol is coming to NY they should tank..... even more so if you don't think he is coming.

We already have Amar'e and Travis Wear occupying that role though and both are better basketball players than Jason Smith imo

bottom line, the ONLY reason the spurs "tanked" was because D Rob got hurt. if D Rob doesn't get hurt, the spurs don't tank. that's the FACT. you thinking the knicks' season is lost after 15 games is irrelevant. that's your opinion. the FACT is, the team is relatively healthy and expected to win. this is the expectation from the top down, only on this board is tanking a viable option.

the other FACT is that without mchale doing a favor for his boy ainge the celts don't get KG.

.
without the other side agreeing to a deal, a trade doesn't happen. That's a captain obvious statement.

The fact is Boston had by far the best offer on the table.

The other FACT is that McHale fukked up what should have been real good value coming back. If you think there's a conspiracy to getting Big Al, Green, expirings and picks for KG, then you can't be helped.

We do. Travis wear is barely a forward... he's really like a slow small forward... But I agree. The Knicks have a glut of mediocre wings (outside of melo, obviously), and mediocre bigs that can't score in the post. With Amar'e being miles ahead of anyone else on the roster.

The only dynamic talent on the roster is Carmelo.

You see the Andy Dufrane levels of shyt I have to wade through in this thread?
