You think Phil ain't looking at both with loving eyes and imagining them sliding into the triangle and making love to it?

This nikka Towns handling the ball and nailing step back j's like a guard :wtf: it's crazy how versatile these new big men are becoming.

So far so good. Just look at our upcoming schedule. :jawalrus:

You're hopeless. I bet you were sad and upset that they broke up the dynamic duel of Marbury/ZBo

Call me hopeless all you want, I don't care. I'm standing by my belief that tanking is a losers mentality. And which team that has been tanking & been successful & won championships, fukk outtar here.

the tank talk is crazy, and i agree it's a defeatist mentality.

phil didn't come here and the knicks didnt resign melo with intentions of tanking, so folks in this thread should get over it. tanking is bad for morale, it's bad for the team culture, and it's not even guaranteed to work. knicks could tank and waste this entire year and still not get a top pick. or if they get a top pick there's no guarantee the player will pan out.

:scust:@ this looking like the 2015 off-season thread after 10 games

Knicks have the easiest schedule in the entire league and they're 4-10. Y'all haven't have seen despair yet. :blessed:

And I'm all for tanking this year only.

The Celtics. That is how they got the assets to swap for KG.

The Spurs. That's how they got Duncan.

And the season just started, but the Cavs tanked, and used their assets to sign Lebron and trade for Kevin Love.

So, you know... a bunch of teams have used it to build successful roster. :manny:

See how you only mentioned a few teams ? It's not a guarantee of success. You might think tanking is a great option but it's pointed out a few times its not a guarantee

You asked for only teams that have won championships. Only six teams have won championships in the last fifteen years. One third of them went this route with great success. Another is now in position to follow the model.

People don't want to "support tanking" -- but you're out here supporting a loser team. I'm rooting for the Knicks. I'm rooting for the bigger picture, get over your weird hangups, and accept the fact that these losses will bring the Knicks a useful asset.

They're not a good team right now, but I have faith that the management in place right now is the smartest we've had in a while. So I want them to have as many weapons at their disposal as possible. This whole "these guys need winning experience" -- no they don't. They need better teammates. And once they have better teammates, then they'll get winning experience.

The Knicks already have their star player, getting extra depth around him makes sense, especially when the top 3 guys in the draft are all expected to contribute right away. Also, how well did using capspace work out for the Knicks? If it weren't for tanking the Knicks wouldn't have Melo to begin with.

You can't tell these kids anything, man. I tried to explain to them why this team was not going to be very good in the offseason, and they laughed it off. Trying to tell us the team improves by replacing tyson chandler with Cole Aldrich and shyt. The team needs more talent, and a high draft pick adds talent and costs almost nothing.

Gimme Karl Towns, bruh. Or Okafor. Or BOOMBAYAY.

I really don't get it fam, it's painfully obvious this Knicks squad isn't very good, and this being one of the few years they have a first round pick it makes sense to try and capitalize on it. I notice a lot of Knick fans get caught up in grand ideas, like Marc Gasol and what not, yeah that would be dope but the odds of him coming to NY are significantly lower than the Knicks being one of the worst teams in the league and securing a top 5 pick.

:comeon: the spurs tank wasn't intentional... d rob got hurt for the entire season and it naturally morphed into a tank job. tanking wasn't the strategy before the season started.

dont remember the exact situation with KG and the celts but im sure it was something similar. in fact if i remember correctly it was some shady stuff happening between GMs like Ainge got one of his good 'ol boys to take on a contract as a third team and that's what helped them get KG.

no self respecting organization with healthy players is going to tank, period. it's a year of misery for an increased chance to get an unproven player, which is not good business if you're an executive. you kill team morale to go 10-72 and draft a greg oden or darko milichik... foh.

i can't believe how some of ya'll think :snoop:

To those opposed to tanking....what do you ultimately want? To be entertained? I want a squad that's going to be competitive for chips for years to come, not this cosmetic patchwork bullshyt. fukk this season man, we are going nowhere and towns and okafor are looking like the real deal. Look at what Anthony Davis is blossoming into....come on....dooming yourself to an endless cycle of mediocrity is the true "loser mentality."

Ainge had his man Mchale give him the hook up with that deal. We are the knicks fam, nobody is going to help us but us. This is proven.

Last time we sucked to high heavens and got a top-tier big man in the draft with the right people making decisions we were contenders for years. Think bigger. This has nothing to do with Darko or Oden.

And keep in mind, Melo is not going to be the man forever, we need to think about the future. The last two years of his contract he wont be nearly as productive as he is now.
