Lebron signed to Cleveland because he wanted to go back home...is there a Lebron on this team? This has been proven wrong over and over again.
You don't need to be good for free agents to sign, you need to put together an enticing package.
Cleveland is a dumpster fire, and LeBron signed there, and Kevin Love forced a trade there.
If the knicks have space, they'll be a factor. If they end up with a young talented player from the lottery, all the better.
I'd prefer them to be good, but the last thing I want to see is some ninth-seed team blowing it on both ends. I've tried to explain over and over that this is not a great roster. People don't want to hear it. Maybe calderon will be the missing piece.
We got these swagless ass hawk fans in here popping shyt

Is there a franchise changing player that wants to come home to NY and play?
And once again...we're ignoring a decade of history where the only star players that wanted to come to play for us had tragic flaws in their game that made us worse instead of better.
That's a long ass post... I'll read it and respond later. But from what I read so far, your thought process completely ignored the fact that dude didn't look at any other teams that had a s good or a better situation than Cleveland. He ain't even meet with anybody before his mind was made upDon't be a child.
LeBron went back to Cleveland because the situation was better there, and his time in Miami had elapsed. Cleveland had space, young talent, and the room to bring in another star with him. They had Kyrie - a talented young guard, and he knew he could bring Kevin Love, a star Power Forward.
I'm sure it was a bonus that it was his hometown, but if they had Utah's roster, he wouldn't be in Cleveland.
"Is there a franchise changing player that wants to come home to new york?" Who cares? LeBron and Bosh went to Miami, Dwight went to Houston, Kevin Love went to Cleveland...
The list of players chasing opportunity is LONG and DISTINGUISHED. If the knicks get it together and get themselves to a 6-7 seed. Great. But if they continue to play horrible basketball, and we end up with a top pick and cap space this summer, that is a very good thing for us. More TV money opening up the cap shortly thereafter. A young player added to the core, maybe somebody like Marc Gasol in the mix. Hell LeBron and Kevin Love could be free agents, good players are restricted, LMA is unrestricted.
And if your anecdotal point is that "the knicks have only attracted tragically flawed free agents" -- well, then... all the more reason to hope (aim?) for a high draft pick.
But why are you worried about attracting tragically flawed free agents and past foibles and trends, we've got new management! :knickphil:

But they existedThe list of other teams that had the room for lebron and the assets available to acquire Love... was SHORT.
I hope they can pick up some runs by the time they get that two day break after that Minnesota game. They need some confidence in the system before Fish/Jackson teach them some more Triangle setsI'm predicting this upcoming stretch against garbage opposition sparks some renewed irrational optimism.
How many guys are even going to be here next year? Longterm implementation of the system is a secondary goal at this point. Phil is just trying to see who is buying in to decide who to keep around. You can see that from the comments he made today. When the roster is completely different next year, the process is going to have to restart anyway.I hope they can pick up some runs by the time they get that two day break after that Minnesota game. ChicagoYeah?
Give them to me.
