If you RAN the xbox brand wouldn't you be out to make them number 1?!?! that would be the main goal... your still negating the brand by putting the games on PC Selling games should be secondary, if the games are good they will sell themselves literally... they have the marketing money for the pushes anyways...

Xbox is a division of Microsoft. If the division does something to further the entire company there's nothing wrong with that. Sony doesn't make PCs and operating systems for PCs. Nintendo doesn't do that either. It doesn't serve their companies to make their software available on that platform.

If I ran Xbox my goal would be profitability. Being #1 is irrelevant because some of the things that raise your position aren't profitable and are investments that could pay off but at the same time could drive huge losses.

It's incredible to me how far behind you guys are in terms of how the future console marketplaces will look.

The blueprint is already out there. Microsoft from what I last saw has 59 million active xbox live users. Game Pass basically doubles their services revenue yearly if they were to incorporate the entire service in one and also allows them an easier path to cutting out places such as gamestop/walmart that benefits them and publishers as well.

A small percentage of the audience will buy these games on PC but even so that's extra sales they mostly wouldn't have gotten had the games not been available to them at all and because they're sold on the Windows Store it's more profit for them.

Sony better counter with something good because the next gen Microsoft is going to have a console + $10 subscription with access to an entire library of games (and whatever launch title exclusives they come out with) to start.
