Yea I thought Freeman just had a hecka lucky season 2 years ago and was a bum, but now he has been killing shyt so far. I don't know what is up with Eli, its like all he is looking for is the big time plays and want to just throw it deep to Cruz all the time. Seems like he has been impatient the way he has been playing, but I'm sure he is gonna pick it up late into the season like he usually does.

You would have to find a point guard with multiple rings who is borderline great to make the comparison IMO since PGs, like QBs, have the ball in their hands on every possession.

Is it possible that his elite status wasn't quite etched in stone and he has dropped just below the elite line? I guess I'm trying to ask, when does elite become permanent?

It is solidified when you have great seasons with a bad game here or there.

Then you add in some accolades and a ring doesnt hurt

I didn't watch the Bengals game except the highlights. But, the Steelers game Eli looked real lazy out there. For the last couple of weeks, he hasn't been patient at all. But, from what I noticed squads are trying to just kill Cruz with a hit to take his confidence away from. I remember the Niners game Carlos Rogers took the legs off him when he jumped to grab the ball and Cruz did a backflip, and wasn't the same. Plus, it seems like teams are game-planning better against Cruz too and taking away the Streak play which seems like why Eli and Cruz haven't connected much recently.
