if you’ve never owned an xbox prior to them implementing game pass then it’s automatically a great value imo...if you amassed a collection of games tho prior to that dating back to the OG xbox then it depends on your game collection...I have like 167 games now and ‘the outer worlds’ was the only thing on game pass that caught my interest that I didn’t already own...fortunately I only paid $1 to upgrade my account so it didn’t feel like a waste of money

Microsoft's Xbox business model is to drive subscriber growth on Gamepass and Ultimate. Just about everything they do pushes you towards that. I'm guessing within a few years Xbox Live Gold will no longer exist and it will be completely rolled into Gamepass. The price of all of them will likely go up a couple bucks. As a stand alone product Xbox Live Gold no longer makes sense. They should just cancel it for new subs and let people carry over what they have now and require Gamepass going forward.
