You can't HESITATE to just throw your bullshyt talking point in, can you? :what:

And you're FLAT OUT WRONG.

We're talking about minimum wage and CONSUMER protections.

This is whats so flawed about you ideological libertarians.

Young and full of absolute hard-line bullshyt devoid of any nuance to reality.

dead7 and every other idiot in here defending schiff is either young and/or lives with their parents. they think they're going to be wealthy one day :heh:

Minimum wage is a regulation :umad: and a barrier :umad:

But to your point, I think the regulations put in place to protect consumers do not(or have not) off set the negative impact of regulations put in place that favor corps. Therefore I'm against them. Its a simple cost vs benefit question for me.

Societies natural slide towards full blown socialism forces hard lines, and the resolve to err on the side of liberty whenever tough decisions must be made. This to you, is as ridiculous as surrogate decision making is to me. and I dont think there is anything wrong with the disagreement.

Its not about defending schiff, its about believing that paying people based their production/relevant value isnt wrong.:comeon: Lets take the argument against it the other way, should doctors be paid $10-$12/hr? :ld: Obviously not, but why? :aicmon:

If divorcing value from supply and demand holds up, prove it to me... thats all im asking.:manny: If its an idiotic notion explain how... otherwise your just spewing emotional garbage.

Should what people do with their money be left up to them? :ld:

no

(first we mustn't be afraid to answer this question unequivocally and then we will be able equivocate on our answer intelligently)

ideally, money should flow through society the same way food goes through our bodies and then becomes fertilizer which then becomes food again (ie ecosystem)

absurdly, people should not be allowed to burn their money

I responded to consumer protections directly... :upsetfavre:

Min wage makes little sense, there are not enough enough jobs because its cheaper to do business over seas. in response liberals want to increase the cost of doing jobs here :wow: It sounds and feels good, but it makes no sense. I prefer low skilled people working and receiving aid, to unemployment and aid.
Our economic condition is too sh*tty to raise min wage.

Lets just agree to disagree. You think people should be paid according to something other than their output/merit and I dont.:yeshrug: Neither view is extreme tbh.

He has a point.

Unproductive people deserve to rot in these streets
OK let them rot and see your society turn violent quick. Your an idiot if you don't know what keep the first world poor in check as opposed to the third world is they can just hang on enough to survive. Clowns like you that advocate society's with no support for low earners don't know a thing. You gonna have desperate poor not just broke cheque to cheque folks. Desperate poor do horrible things. Furthermore who is to say they are unproductive and what would stop employers from abusing even good workers by underpaying them?

Read the Bible.

Unproductive trees were cut and burned.
Bible also said it is easier for a camel to pass thru a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven

And that a breh built a boat big enough to hold millions of species of animals, and that another breh survived inside a whale's acidic, anoxic digestive tract for 3 days

Cherry pick bible verses to contradict the Bible's teachings, brehs

Minimum wage is just one piece. Look at China's smog problem. That's due to their lack of regulations that enables all our shyt to be made cheaper, and is another lightning rod for hyper-capitalists. Look at the collapsing factories in Bangladesh. Safe factories cost money as well. Look at how workers in Malaysia have to pay bribes worth several months' pay just to get some $3 a day job. Whats the economic prospect of a country in which the majority of the population is living essentially as debt slaves, under clouds of sickening pollution risking their lives for next to nothing? If minimum wage and all our regulations are so counterproductive, why is America so much more productive and wealthy than the third world banana republics you are so eager to emulate? Some things are more important than quarterly profits and low prices. A balance can easily be struck between capitalism and collectivism that better benefits both workers AND capitalists than the system we have now, but it will require a shift in thinking on both the part of the workers and dudes like Peter Schiff... and thinking period from talking point regurgitating trolls like you.

which is absolute bullshyt on your end since in your case, they wouldn't be paid.

Not everything works in the interest of the consumer. You must realize this instead of acting like some hardline ideological jackass.

because in his mind, America, (the world really) is made up of only the rich
the poor/middle class are not true citizen, just quasi-processors and motors to be plugged in, used for labor and farcical elections that produce the illusion of his morality and discarded at obsolescence. it's a poor sublimation of cannibalism

Whether or not you libertarians understand...making the poor/underclass feel complacent IS a positive feature for society.

If you can satiate some basic or entry level needs SUCH AS WAGE FLOORS, then you address the ability of the nation to move forward without paying so much attention to the plight of so many of those who can't fend for themselves.

Trees are plants, human beings are not.
What about animals?

The Bengal tiger is almost going extinct because the population of India keeps on rising. Is it acceptable for animals to die just to keep the human population growing? Humans who are useless. :mjpls:

Or what does that little fairy tale book you read says? :patrice:

He's right. Mental retards can only do manual labour. Manual labour right now may not even be worth $2 at hour.
