"..YouTube, Spotify, and Apple dictate the culture..."

That's true, why? Because that's how labels are generating revenue. And all the fans care about are first week numbers.
Fans don’t care about numbers. They like what they like. Kids in the streets don't care about or discuss Hip Hop how we may discuss it on this forum. They fukk with what they fukk with and drill music is what’s in for them.

Yeah nikka tap in

This is pure HIP HOP

Dancing (b-boying), Graffitti with the bubble letters, raw street energy straight from the Bronx, young nikkas having fun, sampling, just a bunch of lil nikkas in make shift project studios doing they thing something from nothing type shyt, these music videos the new park jams

Say what you want about the content (which isn’t any different than ya favorite 90’s gangsta rappers) but this is pure HIP HOP

This is closer to OG 70’s Bronx hip hop than that slow 80 BPM mafioso gangsta revival rap shyt y’all love listening to

This shyt HIP HOP taking some dancehall shyt, some R&B shyt, some Jersey club shyt and completely flipping it

New York drill got kids dancing again actually putting together combos that’s HIP HOP at its purest and most authentic this is b-boy shyt

Pete Rock is a legend but he is an old out of touch nikka and a hypocrite

I'll give you the dancing, but that's where it stops.

Everything about the drill music coming out the Bronx is pure unadulterated hip hop. From the dancing to the sampling.

It’s the most hip hop shyt out nikkas don’t like it because of its content that’s it if it wasn’t so flagrantly violent and the rappers rapped more 90’s-like it would be a different story.

Pete Rock is right though

NY don't even have a sound anymore and it's because of cats like Flex

Why NYC biting off UK Drill which is biting off Chicago drill in of itself :yeshrug:
What nyc artist that had a unique, OR nyc sound that the people supported did not get play in new york? I’m legit asking since you’re there and i’m not :hubie:

Hot 97 didnt pkay 6ix9ne and right fully so. Flex tried to push that clown CJ, and he went no where. Pop got mad support there right?

Should Griselda get pushed if the people don’t want that sound? Or should nyc artists provide a sound the people want?

If you're not giving them their fair shake, how do we know they don't want the sound?

There was once a time when street records got played on Hot 97 like it was nothing :yeshrug:

NYC Artists will do what they need to get played on the radio which is unfortunately, sound like every other region other than NY

yo i understand ny hip hop radio has always been the mecca and has classic shows and have broke classic artists but do yall NY nikkas still even listen to the radio like that? Like do ya'll still hear of an artist for the first time off of radio? i see countless nikkas going at flex for not "supporting real hip hop" but who cares? lol radio is dead. granted im not in NY or a major media market but I havent listened to FM radio in at least 10 years. Theres literally countless other ways to discover music. does flex really still have pull like that? im really asking cuz im ignorant. like if hot 97 played a conway song every hour for the next week would it really make a difference? idk im still in amazement that people even listen to the radio like that anymore.

Summer Jam is still a thing because people still listen to radio.

Fair enough…its chicken and egg i suppose.

Did people listen to Drama Hour (rip) or Real Late, or are those too irrelevant (again, not sarcasm)
