why didnt you answer my question? why did biden desperately realese the strategic reserves right before the election?

For the optics, obviously. So he could look like he was doing something, and so he could take credit when gas prices inevitably dropped from the peak anyway.

Now are you going to answer my question, or are you just going to keep deflecting further and further from the actual point?

I've never seen anyone give a shyt about who the transportation secretary was until he got the job. Maybe 2009 when Obama nominated a republican for the job...but outside of that? Crickets. And whether it's the far right attacking him for gas prices and electric cars or leftists still mad about the primaries. It's laughable. Nobody cares.

IMO transport secretary is a dead end job you send someone to basically end their career. But Pete has a lot of Allies high up who’ve been pushing him as a legit Presidential candidate. He’s a shytty politician though, so all that did was highlight his incompetence in a low tier secretary job.

The problem is like you said, it's a dead end job. Maybe you can run for governor or something but he's from Indiana so that's a no go. He has no real political figure beyond appointments. Can't be a senator. I'd imagine there's a blue enough district in Indiana for him to win but that's not sexy enough. He moved to Michigan recently but I doubt he'll run there, it would look bad.

That's why the hate he gets blows my mind. From the left or right...they can't see that he's basically gonna be a MSNBC talking head after this job ends? And his best shot afterwards is being appointed to the next dem president's cabinet? Maybe he can become Secretary of Veterans Affairs since he served in the military.

He gets hate because he’s the Shia Lebeouf of politics. He’s getting obvious insider push without commiserate talent and everyone knows it. And, it’s not something to ignore. Kamala Harris rode the same overhype train to the VP.

No, he'd probably be your presidential frontrunner
a small town mayor in his 30s, with zero national accomplishments? :dead:

he's articulate, and that's where it stops. maybe he can move to san francisco and run for Senate in 20 years. otherwise, he better turn this gig into a lobbying gig
