They wanted to get rid of the actor, but they did NOT want to risk smearing their main actress "Red" in the process.
The original guy who hired Perry was willing to give him a $200 check right there. When he found out the pictures were of Red, and that Perry was threatening to give the negatives to gossip magazines, he was like "I'll have to clear it with the studio boss".

I didn't find it boring, but looking back everyone WAS really unlikeable. Even the baby's parents are super suspicious.

I like this as a noir pulp detective show. The world sucks and he’s cynical as fukk. It’s a little dry but I expect that in the beginning cause most noir is like that from jump

I guess I don't know all that much about 1930's LA, but were female "Radio Evangelists" a really big thing back then?

From the previews, it looks like both this and "City of Angels: Penny Dreadful" seem to have characters based on that concept. Is that idea based on someone in the real world from back then?

I want to give this a chance off of Rhys, his performance in The Americans was one of the best acting jobs on TV ever IMO.
