No Whammies!!
I think they already knew what was going on, they just wanted pictures. Fat boy probably already off contract. I can speak from personal experience, mugs just weird like that

even in the 1930s, they don't pay you what you're worth
They wanted to get rid of the actor, but they did NOT want to risk smearing their main actress "Red" in the process.
The original guy who hired Perry was willing to give him a $200 check right there. When he found out the pictures were of Red, and that Perry was threatening to give the negatives to gossip magazines, he was like "I'll have to clear it with the studio boss".

i found this boring and everybody unlikable, but i will stick with it for now
I didn't find it boring, but looking back everyone WAS really unlikeable. Even the baby's parents are super suspicious.

I liked the first episode.
Really wasn't expecting Perry Mason to be such a dirtbag loser though.
He really is. Buying ties from the coroner?

Intro had me intrigued then it turned to:trash:quickly.

Thought dude was a lawyer, but he taking pics of man meat :dame:I swear HBO has some type of dikk quota for every new show.

I'll see myself out.:hubie:

1st episode was alright, nothing really jumped out but I'll keep watching off the the strength of Rhys and Maslany.
I guess I don't know all that much about 1930's LA, but were female "Radio Evangelists" a really big thing back then?

From the previews, it looks like both this and "City of Angels: Penny Dreadful" seem to have characters based on that concept. Is that idea based on someone in the real world from back then?

Feminists breh. They complained about how only women gotta get naked and demanded men do it as well.
