To me Floyd looks more comfortable than Whitaker the higher they went. P had a nice jab and of course outstanding defense. I'll lean toward Sweet by decision but it's close.
I love Sweet pea but Floyd is too damn cerebral to lose that fight....

pernell will lose the fight technically after the test come in
sweet pea clowned some of the best high off a 8ball of coke
and lost alot of the fights due to showboatin which the judges didnt like
he made a young de la hoya look foolish, made ol ass chavez look foolish

Floyd speaks on sparring Sweat Pea when he was a teenager, doesnt say a whole lot because he said he doesnt disrespect champions but definitely comes across that he had an easy time with him. great interview

I came in to post this very interview. Just from his body language and speech mechanics its easy to see floyd gave Bandana P some good work. He was very impressed with his performance, but Floyd truly is a gentleman and scholar of the boxing game, so he would never say something out of pocket to an all time great, especially with that being that it was amateur floyd at the time. What a remarkable athlete.

was never babied like a lot of these new fighters are
he trains hard, has great sparring partners, and is not afraid to learn and improve is weaknesses
he clearly either got da best of sweet pea or got even with him
but yeah like you said, he ain't trying to disrespect a fellow legend
oh and Floyd beats pernell
lol at anyone believing a teenage floyd got the best of pernell whitaker...floyd at best gave pernell some good work sparring but nothing more than that..if he said he had any easy time its because pernell prolly took it easy on him and wasnt in the business of beating down young fighters
compare them at 135..pernell's D was better than floyd's to me but floyd had the faster hands and the power..if floyd let his hands go then he would beat sweet pea, if he didnt then its turns into a counterpunching contest which both fighters are adept in doing
