There was no trailer and pretty much every AAA game takes 5-7 years to complete.6 years between a trailer and a potential release of the game. Holy shyt that sounds wild.

Or 5 for FF7 remake?
Or maybe Granblue relink, trailer was released in 2016 game is suppose to come out this year.
It's not as wild as yall want to make it out.
But this isn’t even true.Ok a glorified PowerPoint presentation and a potential release. That development cycle is common and not what I’m talking about. Usually when a company announces a game, the game is 1-2 years away from release, not six. That’s why I think it’s wild.
The earlier you put out a trailer or promotion the earlier you can get feed back going.Ok a glorified PowerPoint presentation and a potential release. Yes, that shyt is also wild. This practice of announcing a game half a decade from release is crazy and places a burden on development teams that shouldn’t exist. Why would gamers care about shyt they can’t play for that long.
Even something like GOW ragnarock was officially announced almost 3 years before the game came out,
Announced september 16, 2020
Released november 9, 2022

But this isn’t even true.
Especially for something like this where they are building a team to make the game. They gotta announce it early in order to recruit people to work on it.
Some established franchises don’t get so much lead time, but that’s cause everybody already knows the games are being worked on. Even something like GOW ragnarock was officially announced almost 3 years before the game came out, even though everyone already knew the game was being worked on.
It’s actually kinda rare for a AAA game to be announced and released within a year or 2
The earlier you put out a trailer or promotion the earlier you can get feed back going.
Long as there is no date attached to it I don't see a problem
Game was being teased and talked about well before that.
Did 'God of War' developer Cory Barlog just tease a direct sequel?
'God of War 5' has yet to be confirmed by Santa Monica, but a follow-up to the critically acclaimed 'God of War' (2018) is almost certainly in the works. And game director Cory Barlog may have just teased that the sequel is in development.www.inverse.com
Again.Being teased and talked about is not an announcement. Perfect Dark was announced at the game awards with a trailer
Consider what you guys are saying. Games are being announced to the public and they don't even have the infrastructure to really start working on it. It isn't even actually a game at that point, just a concept. Recruiting teams to work on it, what?
What I'm saying is doing that sort of thing is wild. Gamers have an expectation (whether it is warranted or not) that when you announce a game, you already have that stuff in place and you are planning to release it in the near future. Not when high school freshman are halfway through college.
any news on those games?Thats why they announced Fable, Perfect Dark, Everwild, Avowed, Hellblade 2, State of Decay 3, etc. etc. they had to sell the console.
