do you really wanna play the game of comparing Nintendos first party quality with Microsofts first party quality over the past 5 years? I dont think you do, but im willing to play along.

Monolith has been support for awhile, and the results have kicked ass. heard of Splatoon 1 and Splatoon 2? ya, they worked on those games too, and they were both successes.

Initiative has been struggling with Perfect Dark, and after exoduses from the company, the Tomb Raider guys been brought in to help. aint heard a positive thing about this games development since it was announced.

Splatoon is trash.

No nintendo stan all types of shooters are way better than that trash. :stopitslime:

No, y’all made this narrative.

The initiative was incepted as a small studio with plans to partner with CD or another studio.

And that’s the point of @The Mad Titan post.

When any other studio has worked in a similar capacity they get all the BOD and goodwill from y’all, but since this is microsoft y’all weave these negative stories based on nothing but your own biases. :smh:

you can have your opinion on Splatoon but its been a well received IP. I dont like Dark Souls but that doesnt change the fact its a well received and successful series. him trying to use Monolith supporting Splatoon 3 as some sort of gotcha moment is a poor example, considering they're coming off back to back successes with the first two Splatoons.

what we do know about Perfect Dark is

A. development has been troubled.
B. a lot of devs left the project.
C. almost 2 years after announcement, we have fukk all information about this game.

so, until we get something, expect people to keep asking "what's going on with Perfect Dark?"

Halo was well received. Had more content and better support than Splatoon. But here we are. Somehow Splatoon is a great success story and Halo is trash :stopitslime:

It’s not about a “gotcha” moment.

Y’all narrative is that the initiative working with CD is some unprecedented failure.

He was just giving examples of other studios working in a similar capacity. The actual quality of the game don’t really matter.

A. No we don’t. You made that up.
B. Devs move around on lots of projects. They have more devs now than they have ever had.
C. Games take a long ass time to make now. Plenty of games have been announced without much info since. Assassins creed Japan was just announced, i’m positive we won’t get shyt else about that game for a couple years.

“People” only do that with microsoft games.

TLOU factions was first announced as to be included with TLOU2. It was delayed and we’ve gotten ZERO info on it since. Why ain’t y’all asking “What’s going on with factions”

But I didn't make it up.
Perfect Dark development 'painfully' slow, 'as much as half' the core team has quit, states report

sure, devs move, but sometimes they move because of issues with a project
The former Initiative developers VGC spoke to attributed the wave of departures to frustration among senior talent over the direction of the project set down by Gallagher and game director Daniel Neuburger (who himself left the company last month).
Insiders describe ‘fast and furious’ exits from Xbox’s Perfect Dark studio | VGC

Factions? I talked about that.

Again, you’re missing the point of why people are rolling their eyes.

You see Gizmo, people asking for the new shyt, thats why rehashes of gta v and skyrim are tired, they aint dropped nothin new. People want gta 6, people want elder scrolls 6. Its been 3 years since TLOU2, people are asking wheres Factions? Instead they gettin a 3rd release of the first game instead.
you see what you wanna see tho Meach. horse blinders, tunnel vision, and a victim complex for a company you aint even employed by. I shat on Last of Us Remake in the thread and had several posts asking about Factions. so when you say "why aint y'all asking what's going on with Factions?", people did. but you ignored it

My whole point is studios get help and very few Triple A games are made solely by one studio if any.
Which was flipped into, well they brought in a studio to co develop it which is more than help.
Which was then pointed out that, that was the whole intention of the studio in the 1st place.
Which then was flipped into, it must be really bad for Perfect dark because people left do to leadership.
Which was pointed out that, "a team full of leaders was going to develop a game?"
Which was flipped into, well they have a bad track record or history.
Which was then pointed out that they actually don't have a history at all, they haven't got a chance to get a game out the door yet.
My whole point is less to do with how good or bad Perfect dark is doing or will do. It's that Big triple A games get support, LOTS of it. It's just not talked about often and when it's not big news.

First off, slow=/=problematic.

Games take longer and longer to develop these days. This is a new game with a new team. 3-4 years ain’t long at all.

And “half the team” did not leave. Don’t know where u got that from.

sure, devs move, but sometimes they move because of issues with a project
And sometimes they don’t. :stopitslime:

Again, if you actually look at the details. There was lots of redundancy.

The lead of the initiative was also the lead of CD.

Once the decision was made to work on Perfect Dark with his old team, i’m sure lots of people felt there was no reason to stay on.

That’s not “problems” it’s just the normal progression of a new team working on a new project. People are gonna pick their places and react accordingly.

It makes all the sense on the world if you are not reaching for some negative spin to put on it.

Naw. ain’t no bunch of threads and people calling ND incompetent. Or talking about all the people that have left ND over the years.

None of you claiming Factions development has been “troubled”

Stop playing with me breh :comeon:

Big, if true.

You can say Xbox has enough FPS and this is a win for variety, but did it have to be Perfect Dark?

:patrice:

Well, I personally believe it's because they are trying to fill the void left by games like Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell & Siphon Filter. What better way to do that than with an established franchise that could appeal to those same fans... and since this will be a reboot, going third person wouldn't be that much of a gamble (except for the old fans that love the Nintendo FPS games).

The way things are going, it sounds like a failure already.

:ehh:That's an interesting take, maybe PD would work better in that vein than Tomb Raider.
