How is it going backwards? :dahell:

I'm pretty sure more blacks are going to college and attaining professional jobs/business ownership, crime rates are much lower than they were in the past, teenage pregnancy is lower, black community isn't being ravaged by crack and heroin, incarceration rates are lower, etc.

Screw the numbers and percentages Fox News gives you. College numbers are the most useless. What's the use of a degree when you can't get hired.

The Black Community is in shambles bruh. No men around, kids are totally running hood. Black men and women are at war.

As a substitute teacher one of the biggest problems i see is, the youth don't have much respect for adults at all.

Asians are beating Black women on camera, Black Men getting killed, no charges are real uproar. We had way more respect back then. They respected our minds more, they also knew we would riot. Now we're pretty much defenseless.

Might get negged for this but Under Obama black folks got too comfortable and white folks got Aggy :manny:

We need to know this truth. Blacks seem to do better when we not under any illusions. Obama was an an illusion. Black knew Reagan and Bush weren't doing anything for us.

True, but America in general is going backwards though :patrice:

Thats why these cacs voted for Trump.

So true, but you know what they say. If America has a cold, Black America is on Life Support.

I don't look at today's youth and think they got it good..the 90s had balance and freedom of expression.

They think they have it good, but have no clue of what they're facing. No one wants to hire Black youth. The Competition with immigrants and all the other non-blacks is getting worse.

Gentrification is rampant.

No we didn't.
Rose colored glasses aren't something to be worn outside.
Plenty of Black people got killed by police. There was even less coverage and maybe 1 out of every 700-800 killings actually led to a riot.
Where is this vague idea that there was more "respect."
Crack Era and post-Era years were WOAT in terms of community =.
Better education is better education, no matter what.

The 90's was a crossroads for blacks that we didn't even realize we were at.

And its starting to look like we made a wrong turn.

The 90's birth this information era, which is a blessing and a curse.

The was a lot of organic growth of people as a whole, its now much more programmed and follow the leader.

Police knew back in 90s if you got caught beating a Black man back then it was over for them. Now they're getting millions of dollar in GofundMe donation when they kill a Black man.

Looking through this thread saddens me. Any era is better than the one we living in now. People are like zombies now. No brains at all.

Kids are in the house all the damn time, gay shyt everywhere, Politics is on all high fukkery, nikkas walking around with weave down to they ass :picard:, Education is at its low.

I'm sorry world is coming to an end because these kids parents are raising now is clueless, the parents and the kids. :yeshrug:

For all you "but but you can say this about ANY generation" nikkas.

No, you cant. The shift in economics, sociopolitics, and culture from the 90s to the 2000s is the most drastic shift since post world war 2. POSSIBLY even greater than that.

The Digital revolution changed everything. Think for a quick second how many media formats/gadgets/systems/platforms we've quickly used and abandoned in the past 17 years and that is only a microcosm of how fast technology has evolved.

And never before has technology had such an impact on CULTURE. With the ability to be plugged into global time zones and experience life as they would IN REAL TIME we are closer than ever to the truest concept of Globalism.

With the digital revolution, automation is increasing faster than before. Outsourcing is easier than ever. So the income gap has increased faster in the 2000s yet our info on all of this has gotten more reliant, expedient, and through. The income gap has been increasing since the 70s, but the 2000s is the first time we've actually questioned it.

And i havent even gotten into how 9/11 has changed things.

Police killed hundreds if not thousands of Black people back then.
What were there, 15 riots total? :gucci:
You have an incredibly rosy view of the 90s. :dame:

The worse thing of the 1990's was giving bill clinton a black card!!!! That 1994 crime bill, affirmative action reduction, reducing government assistance over BS shut the door on many of black folks by the 2000s.

Bill Clinton pulled the wool over black peoples eyes something serious back then. Hell....his wife had to pay for it in 2016.

media and entertainment had us feeling good. The democrats plotted right against us in an unforced manner (republicans didn't demand the 94's crime bill...just a solution for crime) and reinstated the oligarchy.
