A family friendly i know just got half his leg amputated due to type 2 diabetes. And now talks about how he regrets sitting on his ass and not being active when he was still in decent shape. :francis:

If you’re reading this and live a sedentary lifestyle, it’s not too late to turn it around. There are people born without limbs, disabilities. Unable to do the things you and I take for granted. Then there are those who lose that ability later on in life due to neglect.

Please do not be that individual. Most of us on here don’t realize how lucky we are that we can just get up and walk around, run, cycle, swim.

Knowing how fortunate I am is what keeps my ass off the couch. We’ve been given the gift of life and most of us good health. Don’t waste your time sitting down for most of it and lamenting it later. Get out, there’s whole wide world out there brehs/Brehettes.

I stay active with the exception of winters. It's too damn cold on Cardassia in the winter. My health isn't perfect, but I work on it as best I can. Very sad to hear though. Unfortunately we are human and generally humans are self destructive.

This is the truth.

As a Type 1 (31 years now), amputation has always been one of my biggest fears. The ability to not move when I want scares me to death.:wow:

Edit:
I've been on a pretty good routine for maybe the last year or so:

-6:30a: shoot ball for 30 mins to an hour
-7:30a: lift weights
-then shoot ball for another 30 mins

Now that spring is round the corner, plan to take 4 to 5 mile walks with my weighted vest. At least twice a week.:ohlawd:
