Lot of you nikkas just on here bragging like you dont live in America still. i got mines looking ass but half your family in poverty still. that shyt makes me sick. i wish i would be bragging to a bunch of anonymous brehs and thats my only contribution to a topic on collective wealth and general wellbeing.

I'm trying to build a ladder and lift people up. There's alot of gatekeeping and politics keeping hard working people out of the boardroom and anyone thats been in there knows that shyt. Hard work is important but it doesnt guarantee shyt. And everybody not cut out to be a hard worker, doesnt mean they should have to suffer in a first world country. This kind of mindset is corrosive. Some people have disabilites, health issues they have no control over. It aint about all that. I want good people to be healthy and happy.

Sitting here acting like COVID didnt just wipe out hella hard working people forced to go back to work during the pandemic. shyt is crazy how we're back to this bootstraps mindset after so much bullshyt has occured in this country. Hustling hard and end up like Don Breedan from Heat. Thats no way to live. We should all be looking out for each other.
It’s funny that you mention bragging because can you really talk shyt about how well you doing if most of the people you know fukked up

:mjlol:When I talk about Macro-issues on this website, nikkas will keep talking like it's an individual issue. That's 20-40% in rent and food is everybody. Those layoffs & other job market are affecting everybody. What is happening in america, can't be collectively hussled out of or ignored because "I got mine"
I don’t know if it’s a defense mechanism or they just being contrarian but people have to be careful dismissing shyt

Cause they going to fukk around and find out they basically a frog being boiling alive in a pot

Regardless of what you believe we should all stand together in one accord in support of not only better cost of living but economic security, that is the overall message y’all be should getting from this article

The only thing that makes money is making money.

Problem is, sometime 30-40 years ago the system got broken and even a "decent" life for working moderately hard/smart got pulled a part.

You gotta be hardworking, cunning, damn near deceptive, around the right crowd and quite honestly lucky to breach the new standards for middle-class.

Blood needs to be shed on the wealthy elites that causes these conditions. French Revolution type shyt.

I'm in this weird space. I don't want that and hope the system can change. I call myself a capitalist, but I have many socialist leanings. I've been moderately successful financially in my life once I entered my 30's.

But the reality doesn't escape me that capitalism will continue to eat itself until it becomes a full on oligarchy. I fear once AI really gets going in the next 4-6 years it will get far worse, like Elysium/Blade Runner level worse.

We'll destroy ourselves because even the rich elites themselves don't even believe the system is sustainable. It's no coincidence that they're all trying to go to space while in the interim building Doomsday bunkers in the ground.

It's one giant Moloch Trap; if they don't do it, someone else will, so it should be me Type shyt.

Bmore stand up!
Society cooked if true. Working harder is almost never a bad thing. shyt gonna get spooky when the old school generation passes on.
Brooooo I was JUST saying this same thing to my mother like 2 days ago…. The older generation ain’t perfect by a long shot… but just looking at people my age and younger??? I seriously fear for our future….these new young’ns coming up are virtually useless…. They can’t fight, yet they don’t respect or empathize with anything, they don’t dream at all, I don’t see them innovating nothing, they’re strung tf out on social media, they aren’t taught the essence of real music anymore…. Their level of toxic is like nothing I’ve seen before, these youngins can hardly talk and form Horne up sentences…. Like where is the next Malcolm X, thr next Bob Marley, the next Cornell west, thr next Muhammad Ali etc etc….. I just don’t see it coming

We can hate on the older generation all we want but truth be told they are to an extent the only thing in society that still helps keep honor, respect, decency and morals intact because lord knows these 30 and below MFs lack it.

The harder you work the more work you get. Work a medium amount, enough to get that promotion, but not enough to stress you out too much
Learned this the hard way in my 20s when I was working retail. Moved up to asst. manager with the quickness, figured out the inventory system, had binders, schedules, excel sheets all on point. Then they gave me more work by having to train other people, go to meetings in the city, etc.... Then I'd take 2 days off and I'd get calls,

"the inventory system is broken"
me: "did you log in?"
......."Oh sh*t! aight thanks bro"

:mjlol:

I saw people around me with less experience and sh*t work ethic moving around, leaving to City and Gov. positions, I said f*ck all this I'm out. Never again.
I also realized why anyone with a solid work ethic would be moved up to asst. manager almost immediately, just so you can bear the brunt of the work and the higher-ups can take vacations.

This reminds me of the story a tour guide told me when visiting the Mayan Pyramids. The Mayans used to play a game where the winner is sacrificed and it was a big honor, same for virgins where only the most beautiful virgin is chosen and is sacrificed. The tour guide said this is why Mexico is full of lazy people and sluts.

sad to see so many brainwashed by capitalism still

:picard:

Sure the system is messed up but we're all fighting for the same resources and you can only operate in the world that actually exists. Too many people operate in a world that they wish existed.

In the words of 2pac, I was given this world, I didn't make it.

If I gotta be here, I'm not gonna whine and complain. I'm gonna do the best I can to win.

Because they don't, for starters, the only true "reward" for hard work is more work and two, we no longer live in a world where giving your best/all to a job 40+ hours a week is enough to sustain a living income or fair treatment by corporations who ultimately are beholden to shareholders over employees.

That's not what work smarter not harder means.

I'm surprised how many people are using the cliche wrong in this thread :ehh:

....unless it means something elsewhere :russ:

I think this is where we're having a conflict with posters in this thread.

Anyone who understands that capitalism is fukked needs to be actively working towards whatever will change their situation.

I'm an idealist myself but in 2024, I'm operating in the real world and the real world only.

There is no guarantee that any president, governor or mayor is coming to save anybody, they're appalled at any kind of social
safety net and this has been a problem from this country's CONCEPTION, like from DAY ONE.

SO if we're all operating from the ground rules of "No one is coming to save me", then why aren't most posters in this thread
being honest with themselves ?

To anyone who is dismayed by our lack of progress, you gotta start asking yourself:
How is your financial situation? How much money have you saved? What career do you work in? Where do you want to be?

What is your Networth? What is your GOAL networth? How do you plan to exit the working world?

We can talk about exploitation and the evils of capitalism all day but what's more evil is dying starving in the street hoping
for someone with goodness in their heart to reach out and help you.

Again, there are people on here just not being real and hoping for benevolence from people who have shown themselves
to be comic book villain-tier evil.
Learned this early on in the military. The kats that were great at their job never were able to take leave (vacation) because no one else in the work center / duty section were as qualified as them:mjlol:.

The fukked up thing is you could be trash at your job and have zero qualifications and still get paid the exact same as them.

For most jobs, [in the military and civilian sector] working hard actually puts you at a disadvantage in some aspects.

It really depends on the organization.

If it's a job that has a lot a processes set in stone and you're just expected to show up, work the processes and go home.
Then working harder is pointless, they will just throw more work at you.

If it's the kind of job where a single worker can have an outsized impact on the performance of the firm (Real Estate Agent, Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer, Business Development-type role etc.)
Your impact is HIGHER and your compensation WILL REFLECT IT or the company can (and frankly WILL) take a big (and unnecessary) financial blow by losing you.
