  • A video showed people swamping a US Air Force plane as it moved on the tarmac at Kabul's airport.
  • Afghans have been desperately trying to flee the country after it fell to the Taliban.

A video showed hordes of people swamping a US Air Force plane as it appeared to be taking off from Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul as Afghanistan fell to the Taliban.

The video, which was widely shared on Twitter on Monday morning, appeared to show dozens of Afghan civilians running alongside the plane and trying to grab hold of it as it made its way down a runway. It was not clear when the video was recorded.

Other videos posted on social media on Monday appeared to show bodies falling off military planes seconds after they took off.

Kabul's airport became a scene of chaos on Sunday as the city became the last Afghan military stronghold to fall to the Taliban.

Thousands of Afghans showed up at the airport, trying to get on flights out of the country. But their hopes were dashed on Monday as Afghanistan's Civil Aviation Authority announced that all commercial flights out of Kabul had been canceled.

The BBC reported that the airport had been divided into a commercial side and a military side, which the US had control of and was using to evacuate personnel.

In another video posted on Monday, gunfire could be heard as Afghans gathered on the tarmac scrambled. Witnesses told Reuters that at least five people had died in the chaos at the airport, though the circumstances of the deaths were unclear.

Seems like the Taliban was just waiting in the cut for the United States military to bounce to go back to business as usual.

Those people over there are going to have to start a literal insurrection and civil war to take back their country. They had to know that the United States would pull back at some point, and they were going to be on their own.

Side note jumping on the side of a plane that is taking off is only smart if you have an immediate death wish.

Afghans had 20 years to get their shyt together to become self sufficient… How the moment the US say we leaving afghans fold up like a cheap suit? Seems to me they were NEVER serious about being self sufficient and was just comfortable having Deebo at the front door for protection
Shouldn't have even been there after it was confirmed that bin laden wasn't there. Theyll have a civil war, the Taliban will reclaim power and hang on to it until the people become so frustrated that they fight back and have another civil war.

If they're lucky, they'll win and install a democratic government. The government will eventually become corrupt and then the cycle will repeat until eventually they become a basic democracy like Pakistan, military dictatorship like egypt or Islamic theocracy like Iran

These are the poor sods who were working for NATO and US military in civilian roles like translators, security contractors, etc..

They have been abandoned to their fate and will most likely be executed by the Taliban. This is heartbreaking and I feel for them and their families.

White people are snakes, whichever way you want to look at it.

Biggest issue, aside from more extremist elements migrating to Afghanistan, is that the Taliban is actually in talks with Russia and China to legitimize their 'government'.

This is gon' get UGLY.
