That’s typically doesn’t happen because leagues wait until an investigation is done before levying punishment. The NFL puts players on the Non-Exempt List while waiting for the investigation to play out and they’re still getting paid in the process. It’s why Watson was still getting paid and didn’t get suspension until those court cases was settled.

Technically Bridges was still getting paid as well until he was suspended. You just couldn’t have him on the floor for obvious reasons.
So it’s just the teams that get punished before the legal process plays out.

All in all I’m not entirely against leagues taking action especially where there is clear evidence. Playing guess & making decisions based on how the public “feels” is silly tho

Agreed, which is why the NBA is fukked in this situation as you can’t suspend him without pulling a Ray Rice like @Big Boss, but somebody at that league office is going to have to step to the mic and answer some questions that they got.

Unfortunately, the midseason tournament starts next week so they better get those answers ready as the media won’t take no response as an answer nor should they.
