PBC on FOX 12/22: Jermall Charlo-Matt Korobov / Jermell Charlo-Tony Harrison (WBC 154 title)

If we talking the whole weekend of boxing..Breazeale looked the worst. He was getting pieced up by a guy who stopped trying half way into the fight. We talk about Wilder getting bailed out by his power, but Breazeale is even worse with it. At least Wilder bringing athleticism and unpredictability. Breazeale ain't bringing that and be up and down as fukk. Sometimes boxing, sometimes going thru the motions. Most of the time just looking slow and cumbersome.

Harrison didn't impress me at all. Was way too passive. He looked better winning rds against Nelson and Hurd before getting stopped, than he did against Mell.

Mell was a lil passive too, but let his hands go more often and won clearly imo

Mall was ok, started off bad, but not Algieri vs Provodnikov bad. Mall slowly found his way into the fight and ended shyt big. Close bout. Drawish anybody can get it type of fight.

Warrington deserves FOTY honorable mention. Dude beat the shyt outta 2 boxers who were supposed to be a class above him. Frampton was doing all he could just to keep that nikka off of him, Got in some good licks, but he lost that fade.

Whyte was getting worked over until he finally ran Chisora into the perfect shot. Both guys came in good shape.

Definitely makes up for last weeks shytty fights.

Just watched it again and scored it a draw. Korobov won rounds 1-5,11 and Charlo won rounds 6-10, 12.

Fun fact that I just found out.....Matt Korobov has amateur wins against Danny Jacobs, Usyk and Derevyanchenko...........daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

Why the hell wouldn't FOX push this narrative or at least mention it during the telecast? They just casually mentioned his amateur experience. No reporters mentioned this either, and none of these youtube journalists..this is disappointing.

Korobov is clearly a top notch fighter, this was a test, not a feeding.

If Charlo truly just winged this...I still think he's a top contender.

After Saturday a shyt ton (if not before) cared a lot more about Jacobs than Charlo.

Jacobs is much much bigger and well-known than Charlo (either one).

He's been in bigger fights, fought better competition and is a much bigger name for a PPV (well Cinco De Mayo), both name wise and competitiveness.

After Saturday I don't even wanna see Charlo vs Canelo. He needs Martin Murray or along that stature for his next match. If Kid Chocolate can make 160 again that's good too.

Problem is they made themselves out to be killers but the step up in comp is showing some GLARING HOLES IN THEIR GAME.

They look extremely pedestrian facing/doing

- lateral movement
- southpaw fighters
- avoiding a straight left
- lunging when desperate for a KO
- head hunting
- no body shots
- poor cutting off the ring.

They looked exactly like Manny vs Marquez III....completely befuddled when someone wouldn't stand in front of them and countered.

Any up to someone like Canelo is an ass kicking. That shyt would be an embarrassment. He gets outboxed or dropped or mauled. GGG ethers him too.

He and his brother looked terrible. Period.

Easy..because it's a showcase card..that's what this card (and most of the fights from the pbc rollout) was marketed as from jump...korobov had a great amateur career but hes only known for 2 things in pros...taking jose uzcategui's zero and losing his zero to Andy lee 3 years ago..he has been in fighting infrequently on non televised prelims since..no one really knew what he had left.. and that's why, although it made for a better fight, shyt went left

Yeah, makes sense...I at least was expecting something from the big youtube guys like fight hub tv etc.

That's the one thing that UFC commentary has over boxing, they will at least bring up solid talking points and facts/history during the fight. It almost made the commentary gang seem uneducated on the other fighter. I bet Max would have brought up those wins though.

Also...this sets up a nice rematch on the Spence/Garcia FOX PPV. That card needed a huge second fight and now we got one.

Views on the FOX Youtube channel are at 340K now, show me something that's close. They are also keeping the Charlo's Toe to Toe promo video as their lead in/home page video.

That PBC Countdown to Charlo/Harrison was like killing 2 birds with 1 stone if they can get this as a rematch on the Spence/Garcia FOX PPV..

You also have Hurd appearing on that card in the crowd/ring and it will be the 3rd time they create buzz for the potential Hurd/Charlo matchup and the 2nd time they create it on PPV...

It's also in Texas......
