Most likely.

Oddly enough, if there's anyone on the team that needs to be doing the Birdman Hand Rub, it's Chris Jones. If this deal is like most long term deals, it should free up cap for them to get some other guys signed right now. Probably backloaded, and might have a bunch of incentives that might sound outlandish and reachable at the same time.

I doubt they have a bunch of incentives for Mahomes. Probably the run of the mill ones but nothing ridiculous. They want to pay him.

this gives him security + cap room for weapons

Bring AB to the Chiefs:wow:

I give it 2 years tops before a major roster overhaul

looks like Chris Jones is already on his way out

I'm thinking 3 :mjlit:
okay.

but yeah,
Not even close. Kelce is due for a new deal in 2022 and Hill in 2023. Kelce will likely be gone via free agency or cap casualty.
We'll see. they walking from them prime Mahomes years going somewhere else making old nikka figures? :usure: Alot of players want to be with one team for life. And the Chiefs have been real good to Kelce and Hill. Both of these dudes came with "issues". Expect a hometown discount from those guys when its time to reup.

If he's guaranteed like 250 to 300 million then this is a good deal if you ask me. Mahomes is the bar at QB now and has set the market. Unless Lamar wins a ring next season (and he could) or the Texans just want to one up the Chiefs i can't see a quarterback beating Pat's numbers for a while.

Kelce maybe, but Hill nah. Especially when his bread got messed up because of the incident involving his kids mother. He was looking at $100+ million and had to settle with $54 million.

Smart for the Chiefs,not Mahomes

10 years ago the highest paid QB made like 20 mill per

just imagine what QBs will be making 5-6 years into this deal

He should’ve signed short term

This isn’t the NBA or MLB where career lifespans are predictable. All it takes is one bad hit and it’s game over for Mahomes. If he gets Theismann’d next year he still comes out of football ~250M richer. That’s a lot of money for anyone playing football to turn down just to bet on themselves 4 years down the line.
