Honestly, I don't know who to believe, but it doesn't really matter to me.

It's a part of the reason I don't listen to Beige Phillip or follow what Von's doing too closely - I was a fan of Patrice - his extended fam and friends are cool, but since he's gone I don't want to hear second hand game from anyone that isn't him directly.

He was the connect, now that he's gone, I'm out of the game. Ain't no need to buy the stepped on package just because.

:yeshrug:

Yup, pretty much how I feel too. I tried to listening to Beige Phillip but can't fukk with it at all. Only Patrice 'affiliates' I still fukk with are the ones I liked/followed when Patrice was alive and are "self-made" (Norton, Quinn etc.) and not ppl who more or less came up 'under' him.

I'm up to #130 where Patrice ends up spontaneously singing the blues with some guitar legend

Just what he sings and knowing there are only 15 appearances left gives it a special meaning, cause it was something he never really did in all the years he was on.

A fully accepted staple of the show with his special blowing up waiting for fame to call.. not even 6 months later he would be dead :mjcry:

Last I knew Dante helped Patrice with his game. Beige Phillip is entertaining more for the sake of being entertaining rather than the game it attempts to give.

WOW - I don't mean this to be a running commentary on me listening to him, I always try to post about the best of the best of what he says. But the first hour of this episode is absolutely amazing, talking about why he hasn't "made" it. His marijuana at a party vs heroin at a party comparison, his Tracy Morgan stuff... it's amazing. Basically a must-listen for anyone aspiring to be famous.

And he basically called what happened to Ant.... one day "someone" decided to get Ant to pay up on a favor, and even though Ant didn't say anything he hadn't already said for many years, the machine started up...

AND COSBY! Some nobody got permission from a powerful man to say some stuff, and the dominoes started to fall.

I'm finally at the episode where Patrice had the stroke. It's weird listening to the ep and being like... why don't I hear Patrice? .. why are all of these comedians here at the same time? Then you realize like... oh. That feeling of emptiness after you know things are gonna be a bit different after this. I've been listening to his stuff for over 2 (maybe 2.5) years and I'm finally basically done with what is preserved of his life's work.

For some reason I remembered Twichels this morning and went on a google rampage about him.. I remember being in my last semester in college walking around killing time listening to those episodes and how hilarious they were. In a McDonalds on a long day in the middle of two spaced out classes listening to Patrice talk about his breakdancing suit being stolen and shaking my head thinking this man is truly hilariously brilliant, or on the train like :dempsey: listening to that first episode about his special suitcase. At a random Mets game laughing hysterically hearing them talk about "Trainables" - so many little situations I can remember, the constant being O&A&P. Now I'm finally almost done with them and I don't know what's next :patrice: - this isn't even like a TV show ending. TV shows you can binge in a few weeks. But 2+ years (Sometimes on, sometimes off) of listening to the same thing!!

Someone dropped a live Patrice set online last week. It seems to be around Elephant in the Room as there's some of the same material, but it's great to hear the differences in this set and how he seamlessly integrates it with crowdwork. It's split into 9 parts. Here's the first:

I just downloaded all the episodes to revisit while on vacay, even though I know it was coming from a place of hurt because of his relationships to women there's still plenty of gems
