Really tempted to buy this :patrice:

So how does this work, I buy it then gave to wait my turn to get on a server or what

I don't usually do this MMO/ARPG thing
You just buy it. Server queue was only a problem on launch.

it actually seems to be even worse lmfao.

nikkas going hundreds of hours to fight the pinnacle boss ONE time. nope, I'll play this on full release

:dead: Breh I'm stopping cold turkey the moment I get my hideout and beating Act 3. Amazing game, but this shyt feels like a tumor on my laptop asking for all that space.

POE1 has the best endgame in arpg history. I expect that what we've seen from POE2's end game is kind of rushed out, to get it to early access. The full end game will be great and just as important...it will evolve over the months and years after release.

call me a casual I guess but compared to d4 this shyt does not value your time AT ALL.

TBF half of the POE community kinda feels the same way. Like once the smoke clear, it was "Diablo at home". But the game itself was an overhype machine that lacks what makes Diablo as a series mesh well with the casuals, along with the hardcore.

No different from all them "WOW killers", but most of the MMO games miss what makes WOW the GOAT.

All in all, the game is good for an alternative and ARPG, but once the hyped died down...the flaws stuck out like a fly being open:

  • Stupid loot drops
  • Overstuffed build mechanics
  • Hard AF (like are we Dark Souls or Diablo :why: )

the thing is arpg fans bemoan stuff being too easy but difficulty does not work well in the genre because of the power fantasy aspect of it. You want to keep getting more and more loot and insane builds going. Eventually you will nuke everything just by the nature of the games. The only way to circumvent this is by giving bosses ohko or periods of invulnerability. Which are both lazy and unfun ways to add difficulty. Making a arpg in the vein of a souls like that intends to be a living game is almost impossible.

Square biz. Like you have POE1 diehards that even claim that POE2 is hard AF. Its not mainly because of builds and so forth. Its the friggin hitboxes and mechanics you either got to exploit (the hyena boss can go to hell), or pray a "git gud" bro will help you kill the damn thing.

Obviously, GGG needs to handle their business because :francis: , I'm all for a challenge but good damn grief. Hell, Last Epoch actually has a amazing balance of hard and easy, with you feeling like a ultra gawd, but sadly the game seems abandoned like shyt.

The last update was a few months ago, and don't get me started with the sorry ass shop with over expensive cosmetics that look ugly as hell.

I’m giving them grace since its early access but this shyt aint hitting and they got a long way to go before this surpasses poe 1.

Yeah I'm going to give it a few months back in the oven, so I can work on Last Epoch and Grim Dawn. Backlog hell is not meshing well with games that are not all done.

Yea that's the one complaint I've seen about this game from various creators. This game was not meant to be 100%'d quickly. They want you to spend 1000s of hours in end game. I'd rather just replay the campaign with different builds

I’m still enjoying it.

Glad the bosses are difficult instead of face tank sim pt 2.

I don’t agree with a number of issues folks are having, but they did charge 30 for early access, so complaints are valid.

Another problem is that the game is being led by a guy who fundamentally doesn't like loot lol. Couple years ago POE1 added a mode called Ruthless which significantly cut drop rates of all items (including the most basic currency) while upping the difficulty/damage taken/etc. It became a niche league that was never popular compared to the regular leagues, but I remember people saying "this is them testing shyt for POE2." I thought that was bullshyt but lo and behold it turned out to be the case lol.

The baffling thing is that we all played Diablo as kids and remember the excitement of that one item dropping. Or knowing that you could play for an hour and you were probably gonna find something that made your build better, even if only marginally better. I dunno what Jonathan (the guy leading POE2 development) liked about Diablo because he clearly doesn't like decent loot drop rates.

At the end of the day this is gonna turn into a bunch of dudes doing crazy damage and flying across the screen no matter what the devs do. I think they're just trying to delay that point but in the process seem to be fukking up an easy layup. Diablo 4 isn't good and a lot of people enjoy dunking on it. But once the "haha Blizzard" shyt dies down and people realize they aren't that satisfied with this game...then what? I have faith in the devs overall but they need to start adding more shyt from the first game and get rid of some of the weird over grinding for shyt loot.
