Where did I deny that evangelical Christians are against stem cell research?
I still don't know where you got that from.
Me saying that there is no profit in the cure doesn't translate to me saying that evangelical Christians don't hate stem cell research.I never said you did, all I said was George Bush banned this shyt for 8 years because of his religious beliefs and you started talking shyt and brought up your stupid "there is no profit in the cure" when that isn't even true and that's why Obama repealed the ban
Me saying that there is no profit in the cure doesn't translate to me saying that evangelical Christians don't hate stem cell research.
Just admit that you randomly brought that up cuz it isn't relevant to anything I said.
I said that he used that to his advantage cuz stem cell was a cure and would take the money gotten from just providing treatments.
Sensitive Blake Griffin said:In 2001, President George W. Bush restricted federal funding for research on stem cells obtained from human embryos because the technology required the destruction of human life. At its core, this issue forces us to confront fundamental questions about the beginnings of life and the ends of science, Bush said.
My position on these issues is shaped by deeply held beliefs, he said. I also believe human life is a sacred gift from our creator.
Nope. This guy is just another c*nty religious person who puts their own bullshyt ass beliefs over the health and well being of other human beings.
George W. Bush said:Embryonic stem cell research offers both great promise and great peril. So I have decided we must proceed with great care. I have concluded that we should allow federal funds to be used for research on these [existing] stem cell lines, where the life-and-death decision has already been made. Leading scientists tell me research on these sixty lines has great promise that could lead to break through therapies and cures. This allows us to explore the promise and potential of stem cell research without crossing a fundamental moral line, by providing taxpayer funding that would sanction or encourage further destruction of human embryos that have at least the potential for life. I have made this decision with great care, and I pray it is the right one.
~Decision Points, pg. 447
I don't like Bush but your hostility is misdirected. Stem Cell research wasn't restricted or hindered by Bush. Taxpayer-funded abortions to harvest stem cells was.
This is why all the stem-cell research went OVERSEAS during this period in time.Mr. Obama's action, before a packed East Room audience, reverses former President George W. Bush's policy on stem cell research by undoing a 2001 directive that banned federal funding for research into stem lines created after that date.
Mr. Bush limited the use of taxpayer money to only the 21 stem cell lines that had been produced before his decision.
I for one welcome our new rat overlordsSome day these oppressed rats will overcome their cruel human masters and rise up
Yea one set pay for cures. The issue would go away but would the price for the cure be more than the price for a lifelong treatment?
I never said you said that dude. GEORGE BUSH is an evangelical christian which is why HE BANNED STEM CELL RESEARCH. That's the only reason I brought that up.
You're saying there is a CONSPIRACY to ban stem cell research because that would result in "cures" that would threaten profits of the pharm industry.
You know how much money people would pay for cures to their diseases
they're literally growing body parts and organs from stem cells, these companies can make so much money off this, why the hell do you think so much research and development is being put into these things?
The truth is simple. George Bush is very religious and he feels stem cell research violates his beliefs, coincidentally, his voting base also agrees with this sentiment because they're religious republicans, you think he could've allowed it without pissing off the majority of his supporters?
Your theory is dumb.

You cure one thing and now there are a billion other things left to cure dude. You can't stop advancement, you think they're just going to stop learning and discovering stuff because they don't want to cure anything? What about all the things we've already cured? why did they do that then? that would require a massive conspiracy amongst researchers who would probably take a lot of offense towards your assertions.

All I'm doing is naming a theory. I am not saying that one should be chosen over another so cut the crap.
I'd love the day where we could stop having to work to live and start enjoying life thanks to advancement but its not my fault that money and class and those who would like to keep class in place so they can stay in top are still alive and well. Its not my fault that they could be using their influence to hinder certain aspects of advancement if the result will hurt their monetary standing. You cure one thing and now there are a billion other things left to cure dude. Obama repealed the ban which is now why we're seeing such rapid advancement domestically.
sigh..it won't hurt their monetary standing..it will help it. But go ahead, keep on thinking that. This conversation has been mind numbingly stupid.

So lets say that we have a car engine that ran on water fully and different models could be made for different vehicles.sigh..it won't hurt their monetary standing..it will help it. But go ahead, keep on thinking that. This conversation has been mind numbingly stupid.
And now funkdoc is posting.
Wrong. We're seeing the advancement due to Shinya Yamanaka, MD, PhD, who pioneered stem cell harvesting by producing stem cells from skin cells in 2006....

Lifting the ban is water-under-the-bridge as we have better and more plentiful sources for the same material at a much lower cost to the taxpayer without any ethical/moral concerns.
