Okay...

My thoughts and what not. Don't take these too seriously, as per usual I'm just having some fun.

Lemme get the Coli Criticisms out the way first.
  • The Iranian picked all 25,000 :mjpls:
    • looking at them demographics...
      • It does beg the question of how to deal with race in fiction. Star Trek gave them the visual basis, but Star Trek was literal about being in a non-racist society....I digress
[*]Black man sold out his Black Father? :mjpls:
[*]His daughter is trying to get cac'd.. :mjpls:
    • Black Mother from Memphis calls her child Presley - really?
    • And why the daughter's friend gotta be large and in charge? (I'm fat shaming? yes I am)
[*]His boss was getting cac'd.,, :mjpls:
    • And another dark "skinded" woman who's playing an unlikable character.
[*]And he himself was a victim of non-consensual swirling... :mjpls: :youngsabo:
Other issues

World Building
I'm very much reminded of Silo. All them years of reading Pop Mechanics, Pop Science, NASA briefings, and Sci Fic as a youngsta - gets me wondering about the logistics...
  • Food
    • How are they growing that type amount of food for 25,000 people (and the population might grow...)
    • Grocery Store looking like Whole Foods/Trader Joes
    • Keto Shelf
    • organic shelf
  • fresh Water
  • Sewage and water treatment
  • Trash disposal
  • No insects? Really? Have the writers never been on a construction site? In a brand new building?
The Socio-Economics of the post apocalypse
  • Why exactly would the billionaires remain in charge?
    • she made her money via stock -but assuming she cashed out and spent her 34B to dig out a mountain and build a city for 25K - a
      • very quickly her "money" is worth nothing, and her power should evaporate
  • Even now they got a waitstaff...does she get the same house and benefit..
  • There's still an unelected council of elites that are
  • What is these kids learning in a school after the world came crashing down (TBF I was listening to some Gaza kids that were excited to return home and go back to school....*laughs to keep from crying*)
  • WII Tennis is from 2006.
  • Food aside, where are they getting the plastic and micro chips and gasoline(?) and all the other stuff required for modern life?

I'm liking the series so far. But anytime you do a Sci Fi series, that's trying to be on some Lost/Silo/"Mystery Box" steez - the world building has to be impeccable, on top of it being a good drama.

Still rocking with show though!
to your first point, it's :mjpls: but it does make sense for the demographics to be like that on here. I take much greater offense to Silo being mostly cacs with darkskin brothers like Billings and the first sheriff and an all-out Indian dude when these people have been cooped up together for 300+ years. The mass majority of people in there should be some type of racially ambiguous. Straight up doesn't make sense for there to be definitive ethnicities when those with them are so few in number.

As far as logistics of the city, they spent at least 8 years putting it together(Sinatra showed them building it to the city planner dude 11 years ago, they've been there for 3) so for me it's kinda easy to skip past those finer details of how it works and accept that it just does

You're right about the billionaire cabal still existing tho, like wtf is money at this point? :mjlol:

Them still having power like they did outside lends more support to my theory that there still is some type of "outside" and the whole world isn't completely over :lupe:

@WIA20XX I was thinking as she had the president on the team he would use government money to help build it all. It's not like they would need it all in the future...

We'll find out.

We know that Sterling's character was Secret Service before the apocalypse.

Are we sure that the President of the Bunker is the same as the President of the US?

That was my sense of it, but I'm not sure now at all.

Just binged the first 3 eps...

I was thinkin throughout ep 1 that this was just "good/solid" but once that twist hit at the end, it just took off and been a roller coaster of tension ever since. Grade A quality storytelling and acting. That latina chick pretty AF.

I will start it tonight brehs:salute:

it's lit and another example of what I've been tellin folks: after living through the dark ages of the early-00s through 2010s where it was scarce/slim pickings to find shows with brehs as from-harlem leads in non-stereotype BS, it's refreshing to see OGs like Sterling, Aldis, Domingo, Idris, get this type of focus as an indirect outcome of the streaming wars.

Domingo is gay.[71] He met his husband, Raúl Domingo, in 2005.[72] They married in 2014.
