My company offers maternity and paternity leave. 3 months minimum. My wife is her own boss so she dictates what she wants to be obligated to as opposed to what she has agreed to contractually… You can’t look at me in the face for real…. The problem is with it not being federally mandated then there's no bare minimum so it wildly ranges. Most good companies will give you 3+ months but then you have companies who just give 3 weeks

But breh, the population of this country prohibits federal mandate from happening.

Some countries in Europe have less ppl than the state of Colorado, so that country can do the it. But America has hundrds of millions of people. It's a different dynamic

bruh I had no idea til I seen my cousin had to do an emergency c-section. 3 weeks is nothing for a woman to recover from that. took her months. when you see other G7 countries are able to give their people several months it's a shame we can't get it done here

3 weeks would have been a nightmare with all the complications + our daughter coming almost a month earlier than expected. Were very fortunate that our kid came out normal, I still have lifelong federal retirement benefits. I’m also glad we both had local govt. positions (Municipal and teaching) when we found out she was pregnant.
