It depends on the company, but usually i hear about it being given with companies that try to get and retain talent. Someone i know of got paid paternal leave but he works for a consulting company at a relatively high level.

Went to a men's ministry at my church this morning. And my pastor brought up this point. And I wanna see what the Coli thinks. He argued that alot benefits that you see in homogenous countries won't happen here because of racism. That it will not only benefit whites but Black people. Yes, some companies have paid leave. But as a country he said that won't happen. Agree or diagree?

First of all, your Pastor sounds like a racist. Jokes aside, sometimes focusing on race blind people from the bigger picture which is cost effectiveness. We already live in a country where employers can avoid paying benefits due to the number of hours employees work. Many companies already have paid maternity leave. Making it mandatory will be a cost and risk many employers are not willing to accept.

That’s a big reason a lot of social programs get hate. white people hate the idea of black people getting social services more than they love social services. Even when they use them more than anyone.

but when they get then they won’t let them go. Look at Obamacare. It was rural white people who blocked Trump from repealing it.

I guess I’ve only worked in places that have guaranteed paid mat/pat leave, even the one private company I worked for had it. I definitely agree that it should be mandated across the board, but I am curious which industries and places don’t have it.

The problem is with it not being federally mandated then there's no bare minimum so it wildly ranges. Most good companies will give you 3+ months but then you have companies who just give 3 weeks

I think actual maternity leave and fmla are 2 different things. For example, about 10 years ago the company I work for would put women on FMLA for about 6 weeks after child birth. There wasn’t even a paternity leave. Now they actually have a maternity and paternity leave for at least 3 months for each parent, with full pay.FMLA was reduced pay, or they did some type of FMLA plus short term disability combo…..
