It's not about whether we can pay everyone, it's about losing flexibility to do anything in FA moving forward once we sign everyone. Plus, there's the potential of one of the signings busting and being stuck with a shytload of dead cap space.

It's funny how re-signing La'el Collins doesn't ever come up in these articles. I guess everyone just assumes he's gone.

This. I have legit concerns about this occuring.

I think it would be delusional to expect Dak, Zeke, Amari, DLaw, Jaylon contracts to ALL work out as planned.

One of those dudes is going to Tyrone Crawdord or Sean Lee us. shyt, if it's only ONE of them that does it, I'd be happy. I'm pretty sure we all accept that Dak is about to be a $20mil dude making close to $35mil so we can already count him as one of the Ls.

Did you read the article breh? I'm not calling you out or anything. It mentions almost everything you brought up in this post, including bringing back La'el Collins. I just posted it because I found it informative.

There's always gonna be risks with underperforming on a contract. Also, Dallas hasn't made big splashes in free agency in how long now? I don't see that changing.

I'd like to maintain some flexibility to remain active in FA. Signing all of these guys means we'll have to bat 1.000 in the draft to fill holes down the line.

I hate these corny articles from Blogging Boys and Mike Fisher always making it seem like the salary cap is not an issue and that everyone can get their money and all will be fine. Like I can go out and buy a Ferrari tomorrow if I want but it will fukk me up down the line if I want to do anything else. Let's be real about these decisions and how they affect us 5-7 years down the line. Otherwise, don't complain when we're sitting on our hands year in and out in FA.

I read it a few weeks ago but I'll read it again later. Just my opinion though, Cowboys should only sign three players from this list long term - Dak, Zeke, Coop, Collins, Jayon, Byron. This is going to be a big season for a lot of people. I got the feeling from listening to Stephen today that he wants to see tangible results before giving these guys extensions.

fukk your flexibility breh.

We won't even be able to afford Benson Mayowas and Igor Olshanskys when all the ink is dry on these reups.

I'm already preparing myself for "team friendly" Jeff Heath $16mil/4yrs extendo

La’el is a disappointment. C-Will is taking his spot

If La'el committed to playing guard, would you rather pay him or Dak?
Honestly, neither

Id put C-Will at Right Tackle and McGovern at Guard.

Id let Byron, Crawford,L. Collins, M. Collins, all walk.

We have viable replacements for them all on the roster already.

If we didnt give up a first for Coop, id let him walk as well. Folks talk about not paying a RB/Zeke, but when is the last time an elite receiver won anything? This dude is going to want to be paid around the same amount as Michael Thomas and hes nowhere as good. He isnt even top 10 at his position, but yall are against paying Zeke :boredstephen:
