This x1000.
They always bring up on Cowboys Break how Byron Jones is his "own dude" and they kind of rag on him for ducking the media throughout the season. Someone who's getting paid big money has to always bring some leadership to the table. It feels like the backend is in desperate need of that. Heath is forced to step into that role since nobody else will and he admitted earlier this season he's not a talkative guy. So basically you got two vets who are not vocal, two young players in Chido and Lewis who don't fukk with the DC, Xavier Woods who is the most disappointing player on the team this year, and Anthony Brown who is checked out and probably just worried about getting a new deal somewhere. It's easy to see why this team feels disconnected. The players just don't see very tight to me and a lot of that is because you've got these quirky dudes like Byron Jones who by his play should be a leader but doesn't have the personality for it. No, I don't want this around anymore. I'm willing to sacrifice a little to get some better chemistry on this team. My fear is b/c there will be so many holes going into next year, that they'll bring back a guy like Heath to maintain some stability.
Guys like Jaylon Smith and DLaw try to be the ones to get players amped, but i think it falls on deaf ears most of the time. Bennett came in and tried.
This team is infected with players with dry personalities. And the "main leaders" are the main players with dry personalities. Like Jason Witten, Sean Lee, Zach Martin, Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Byron Jones.
The youth movement in 2016 led by Zeke and Dak, has been suffocated and dulled down. Zeke aint Zeke no more. Dak has become dry and monotone. You bring in another nonverbal player like Amari Cooper, and the high energy guys like Jaylon Smith and LVE are started to be bogged down with the lack of high energy surrounded them.
