I’m sure there are plenty of other examples but I don’t think these gigs “clamped” Dez especially not the way Amari has been recently. And this is very similar to his stint in Oakland as well.
Amari has good footwork and runs crisp routes, but he’s not Dez
He’s not alpha personality, got that dog in him, vocal leader of men, call out subpar culture or performances, and make tone-setting plays
Dez did all that. One Dez catch and run after the catch effort could energize the entire team/stadium. Dude showed up for big games. Wasn’t scared of big moments. Played well on the road
He had his issues with route running and separation, but it says a lot that he was a dominant top 5 WR in the NFL even without being great in those areas
Amari quiet little beta who likes to play chess and mope when he’s going up against a top 30 CB and/or on the road

Cowboys Break is ready to get rid of Amari after a franchise tag. They also want to force Dak to take top 15 money. Nick Eatman said Amari needs to stop playing chess all day and communicate with his coaches if he has issues with playcalling. Just overall they made it seem like there is some disarray in the locker room because of poo communication btw coaches and players. Said there's just a weird vibe around this team and that we'll hear more about it after Garrett is fired.
Also Jesse Holley said Amari needs to "shut up" and take some ownership of his play because the drops and road woes got nothing to do with playcalling. He said that he better hear about some Amari having surgery after the season or it wasn't really an injury issue and that the rumors about him nothing caring about football at Oakland were true.
