Dan Rafael chat wrap 4/3:

Mayweather-Pacquiao:
- Tickets will be released to the public next week. Guessing that maybe 1,000 will be available to the general public.
- Only MGM properties will show the fight on closed circuit (but that is 10 or 11 properties).
- Date to determine the referee and judges likely will be 4/21.
- In 15 years of covering Mayweather, he has been nothing but cordial and nice.
- Sky paid $4.5 million to televise the bout. The price could go up depending on how the PPV sells.
- When bars are charged to buy PPV's they are charged by max occupancy. (Write in questions says his buddy has a bar and the cost to buy this fight is $5,000)
- Programs will be on sale soon at spboxing.com. Richard Sloan is doing the artwork for the poster. Those will be available soon as well.
- Predicting over 3 million PPV buys.
- The total revenue from this bout likely could have been more if the date was announced earlier to get everything lined up more methodically.

Ones he listed were: MGM, Mirage, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, Circus Circus, NY NY.

Looking on their website it would add: Monte Carlo, Aria, Vdara.

This may have been mentioned already but its a dude who say he's a pro boxer that come to my barber shop and he told us that he heard from a cat in Money May camp that this fight was agreed on in November or December. Everything after that was just promo and marketing.

That's Nate Jones....one of floyds trusted flunkies..dude was on the 96 team with Floyd...his career ended due to a combination of alcoholism and getting slaughtered by Lamon Brewster in his last pro fight ..which gave him brain damage

$ over glory. Back then the equation was a lot closer to even. Toughest fights usually meant biggest $ fights. Floyd doesn't give a shyt what a boxing historian thinks, and he won't get more $ testing himself against the toughest fighter near his weight(GGG), so why should he?

If you transported this era into that type of era, Floyd could have a lot of great names on his resume like prime Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, GGG, a prime Pac, prime Cotto, pre-wrap Margarito, Vernon Forrest, a closer to prime Shane & ODH, among others. If he really wanted to get his Henry Armstrong on, he could've gone up and fought Andre Ward. And even if he lost to some of these guys, that wouldn't hurt his resume. An over the hill Duran gets A LOT of credit for pushing a prime Hagler to the brink.

I think Floyd would've been tested more, which would've brought out more greatness, and he'd have a top 10 resume to go with his top 5 skills. He would definitely be a top 5-10 ATG IMO if he did that. But I'm not knocking him for it because it would've hurt his $, could've left him like Ali & Roach, and he didn't necessarily duck most of these guys.
Everybody cannot fight everybody at the whim of epiphanies. You say prime this and prime that but ODH and Shane swerved Mayweather early on. There are obstacles to making fights plus training. 3 fights/year tops early in one's career. Floyd didn't start making heavy Money until after the ODH fight. ODH was a huge A-side so MW concede. So, MW is on his paper chase now with his career winding down. Why Mayweather has to go instead of people coming down when he is the A-side? What else is there to prove on his resume? Ironically, people throw MW with ish but skate pass Pacquiao questionable resume. Pacquiao fought everybody after MW except Cotto but I guarantee Pac doesn't want that rematch. Algeri and was the best option for BS belt? Did they even fight for the belt. Miss us with this post.

They're listened to show the fights but are they actually going to?

Fighters can and usually fight alot more than 3 times within a year when they first start out unless they are fighting serious ranked experienced pros. The more better fights the better. Shoot check any top fighters record from when they started out as an example

And why the hell would pac want to rematch cotto when he slaughtered the guy the first time around?

Nobody swerved Floyd breh... Floyd wasn't in the same weight class with Shane and Oscar...

So Floyd wasn't "swerving" nikkas when he announced hir retirement after the Oscar fight??

The only people Pac fought after Floyd was Hatton Oscar and Shane.... Floyd fought a blown up featherweight(marquez) after Pac and Cotto

Pac has offered Cotto bytch ass a rematch on multiple occations... ow Cotto's a middleweight, the fight cant be made.. Aint nobody ducking Cotto breh

Let's stop this revisionist shyt. Shane didn't want to fight floyd when he was closer in his prime. It was high risk vs low reward. And later on he said his tooth hurt and he needed a vacation.

I'm all for shytting him for not fighting p will which he should but you nikkaz need to go ahead with that revisionist shyt.
