Which makes it retarded to go all out for Rodgers. :wtf: Jets are better off getting Lamar Jackson. A younger talented QB that they can have long term who would get them to the SB.
Maybe.. I can see why Lamar would be the better option but again they might be able to "reset" faster post Rodgers if it doesn't work out

Rodgers for 1st round picks is something I'm not sure about but then I'm no GM or coach. I know Brady left Pat's and won immediately with the Bucs but it's not guarantee that the same happens here. Did Jets show any interest in Lamar at all?

The first round pick compensation is dumb just off the strength that Rodgers has considered retirement for the past 3 years or so. No point in giving up a first and more for someone who might be there for 1 year.

To get Lamar you need to :

- negotiate a brand new contract with him
- hope the Ravens don't match the offer when every indication is that they will

Teams aren't trying to do Baltimores dirty work for them just to get left empty handed. No one's gonna make a move in that situation until either Baltimore says they're flat out trading him/not matching or Lamar says he's not playing for the Ravens ever again.

But him with a good supporting cast is a minimum guarantee of AFC title game with a good shot of winning. Idc what happened last year he's still the best QB in the league and as long as he's motivated and has guys that can catch and a good enough defense/st he can win the super bowl. And he'll be motivated. Getting him to come back a 2nd year is a diff story but a good season this year is worth 1 or 2 1sts.

They're not even guaranteed to win their division with Aaron Rodgers. This isn't the NFC North. You're also gonna tell me Rodgers is better than Mahomes?

It’s like people forget the Jets won 7 games last year with no QB :mjlol:

Washed Rodgers gets them a floor of 9 wins

"They can't offer Lamar a contract because they would be held up for 5 days to see if Baltimore matches and then be left with nobody"

Meanwhile they've been held up with Rodgers for the last 2 weeks when nobody else is even trying to trade for him :mjlol:
I'm genuinely curious who is in Florio's pockets. Lamar ain't even close to being the first cat to do a deal without a status quo agent, because again the NFLPA isn't going to let someone unqualified represent any players let alone someone of Lamar's status, AND they know this, but they keep saying it....and some folks here keep parroting it. I know the owners got skin in the game on this, but they know if it ain't Lamar then it'll be Herbert or Burrow or Hurts or maybe even Trevor Lawrence so I can't imagine this much of a campaign just for Lamar......and this is most definitely a campaign against Lamar.

The NFL makes that call not the NFL. You do know that right? They were the ones that told teams not to deal with the dude who was calling on Roquan Smith's behalf last season and the one who was "supposedly" involved in Tunsil's new deal. If they weren't making the call, then players could get whoever they wanted as agents.

Florio has been transparent about all sides of the story in saying that Jackson needs an NFL agent AND the fact that the NFL is colluding against him. He also mentioned just earlier today how unqualified agents game the system using fake emails on behalf of their clients.

Baltimore won't match a Deshaun Watson like contract. If the Jets are stupid enough to take on 60 million guaranteed with an aging QB where they won't get a ring. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't blink at paying for Lamar. Bottom line they just don't want him. If he was tall and white. They would jump on it. Teams are definitely colluding together against Jackson. "One darkie got too much guaranteed, we are not letting another one get it." That's reserved for the tall and white QBs- NFL owners.

In 2023 some teams really don't want a black QB. Jets wasted picks on Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. The most novice football fan knew that they had bust written all over them. All you have to be is tall and white and you have a long career in the NFL at QB. Bust or not.
