When you heard Pac, you heard that pure uncut.


And I say that as a huge Cube fan.From '91-'96 I thought he was the GOAT.I loved Cube so much, my son's 8, and he's a Cube stan.I don't know how it happened because I don't even bump rap around him.I just created a Cube stan gene, I suppose.


But he can't hit you with the whole 360 as potent as Pac could.Great Rapper, but Pac is on some other shyt.

Even if you think the albums were concepts that were separated from Cubes true character, that doesn't determine the quality of the album. Whether it was real or not, those albums are just better quality albums than Pac's stuff. And for the record, I think there is genuine intent from Cube. But he, like others, matured and developed and gained a different outlook on life throughout the years and pursued a path that would be best for his family. Can't hate on that.

He understood the power of being "ordinary" and how important it could be when connecting with the listener.


Just powerful, simple truths....Dear Mama....Brenda..etc..etc..He could be vulnerable and park it in neutral, easily.


Never seen another rapper handle that type of versatility with the same amount of grace that he did.


But that's just me.I feel like we'll get 100 more Ice Cubes before we get another Pac.

Pac is like a blend of Cube and Face and one or two others and that's what made him a jack of all trades in song writing.

But Cube was a specialist. He knew his lane, which was far from one dimensional mind you, and he hammered it home across a spectrum of tracks and albums. But Cube was versatile in his own right. Just not as well rounded. For the record, I think he's a better storyteller than Pac, just to show that they have advantages over one another.

Either way, we'll never see either of them again. Both GOATs and top 10 rappers ever (1 and 7 for me). Respect to you sir.
