Over a decade later, why aren't the 2000s romanticized like the 90s were?

The 2000s may not be as revered as the 90s, but I do see a lot more nostalgia for them as Gen Z has gotten older.

Seeing these kids get nostalgic for The Batman and Danny Phantom. :scust::old:

:comeon: The 90s was also when black genocide numbers was astronomical and the 90s is also the reason the Black community is so fukked up, old heads who glamorize the 90s always skip over this part.

And if we talking specifically music I’d say the 60s-70s shyt all over the 90s, because Black genocide wasn’t promoted and sold worldwide like it was in the 90s, and musicians from that time period laid the foundation for 90s music.

In the 60s you couldn't take a piss at a gas station when you were traveling cross country

You had to pack sandwiches to eat on your road trip. Cause white people would

kill you

For stepping foot on the wrong property

But I know. You had to find some kind of hot take.

If you don't like Hip Hop then of course the older music is better than the 90s music. If you take Hip Hop out then what's left? Alternative Rock?

But I love Hip Hop. And the 90s was the best it will ever get. Cause its dead now. Classic Hip Hop ended about 2003 and it was a wonderous marvel.

But a non Hip Hop fan like yourself prefers decades that were not the epitome of and dominated by

Hip Hop.

You've demonstrated how much of a radical thinker you are. Well done

The 90’s is nostalgic to 80’s babies and the 2000’s will be nostalgic to 90’s babies.

Pretty much this. 00s nostalgia is picking up steam. I was on Apple Music lookin at the various Apple Music playlist from 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 and it was like going down memory lane. Had me thinking about middle school crushes and stuff. But once you get to 2009, the nostalgia and romanticism starts to fade, since I was adult aged, and I remember everything from 2009 through the lens of adult realism rather then childlike romanticism ala my memories of the early 00s and the 90s. The early 00s just feel like an extension of the 90s to me. As recent as 2009 feels, 2000-2004 actually feels like a long ass time ago. 2001 really does feels like 20yrs ago.

:ohhh:

Here me out tho....but...:whoa: rappers who were once considered “New School/New Millennium/Ringtone Rappers”like Wayne, 50, Tip, Jeezy, Em, Nelly, etc <——Nowadays those artist feel closer to being contemporaries and peers of 90s Golden Era rappers like WuTang, Pac, Biggie, Nas, Cube, Dre, Snoop, etc, even though back in the 00s we’d NEVER associate those “new school” 00s artists with those sacred 90s artists. That’s how long ago 2000-2004 was.

80s and 90s music and movies were just superior, it's nothing biased or nostalgic about it

why do you think Hollywood flooded the market with 80s and 90s remakes of movies in the 2000s, why not keep putting out original content ??

music is just trash now for the most part cuz everyone raps the same and all are like Wayne clones with the face tats, pill poppin etc...remember when it was frowned upon in rap to bite someone else's style and you had to be original. Now everyone in hip-hop copy each other on purpose with no shame

2000s pop and RnB can't touch 80s and 90s RnB and pop

and a lot of cgi in movies still looks fake, and it shouldn't by now

society as a whole has been dumbed down in general since like 2005

don't get me wrong the 2000s and 2010s had some bright stuff, just nowhere close to the 80s and 90s

The same people bytching about the 00s now were old enough to bytch about the 00s as the decade was going.

Their opinions don't count in a discussion on whether the 00s are nostalgic or not.

I feel like I’m the only one on the coli that doesn’t hate the 2010s. I’m 31 and I’m glad my 20s were in the 2010s instead of the 90s just because of technology alone. And I was poor in my 20s but at least I still had the Internet. Being poor in the 90s meant basic television and watching the same 5 VHS movies. I was able to pirate a lot of entertainment in the 2010s without having someone come to my house to hook up some illegal cable and having to dub music
Sounds like you are discounting how active the streets were in the 90s before all the technology. Everything you said makes it appear you are kind of a homebody? Of course I don't know your lifestyle and could be missing the mark.

The nightclub scene in the 90s was something people still talk about and mixing that with entertainment as a whole , it was a crazy era to come up in from sports , music, movies,
