Over 4 years later, did GTA 4 live up to the hype?

I liked it... Still have fun with it... Not to mention if you hung out get got over 65% for a side character or girlfriend, you got extra useful perks... and eventually they leave you alone... Or if you want to ignore them entirely, you turn your phone off and no phonecalls....

game was great don't know what the everyone in here is talking about

and i only stayed friends with jacob cause he gave you weapons everyone else (especially burice) I saw them when i saw them.

as a new yorker that shyt felt like New york. I don't think any game and replicate that.

This is very true. You could see parts that very much favored parts of Brooklyn, the Bronx and Manhattan.

I lost interest quickly, right about the time my cousin called me and asked to pick up his laundry

Game looked crisp but the controls seemed much more than the older games

I liked GTA IV. I think it had the best story of all of the GTAs so far. But that friendship system smh at me not answering the phone because that was the only way to get away with not interrupting whatever you were doing and not have the person calling you get pissed.

But looking back, GTA IV was clearly batting practice for what they're going to try with GTA V, just as GTA III was a test run for what they did in Vice City and San Andreas.
